Why block people?

I don't understand why, after having a perfectly clean and polite conversation with a nice lady, you then go back in to chat to her and find she has blocked you. A polite no thanks you're not my type is all that is required.

Peopel block for all sorts of reasons and we'll never know why so no point stressing over it. I arranged a meet with a guy who messaged me then blocked me the day of the meet, I guess he changed his mind! It does seem odd if you're getting on but no point dwelling on it.

Being blocked means the same as no thanks, it's how it works here.

We have found that what is plainly understood outside of fab isn't quite as clear here and blocking is sometimes easier for everyone.

Perhaps after chatting she decided you were not for her and instead of saying no thanks by blocking you was her way of saying no thanks?

Sometimes it's easier blocking as sending a message saying no thanks results in messages asking why and messages trying to change people's minds, don't take it to heart just see it as it is someone deciding they don't want to meet and by blocking it saves further rejection x

Thanks for all the replies. It's a bit clearer now. A no thanks would be much nicer but I guess if some people respond to this in a less than mature manner then the block button may work better.

maybe you said someone in the conversation that made them think "oooh... no"

I know there have been some things people have said to me in convo's that have been an instant turn off to the point of me blocking people.....

I always say no thank you rather than block but we're all different. I only block when they start asking why not and keep on messaging and messaging. Don't take it personally, she probably does it to everyone she decides not to meet.

I always say a polite no thank you, have had nice replies back thanking me for my nice reply. Only had one or two want to know why, then it becomes awkward. I dont block them though

I just blocked for weirdness.

Person messaged me - asked me for a face pic. I'd sent her one before when she had a different profile (after she'd asked for it) and she had never replied (which is a bit ignorant, but fair enough, could have just been having an off day). Sent a face pic (again - god knows why) she messaged back and said she was free tomorrow night, subject to a phone call. After a pic of my face and 6 sentences?

I said I was absolutely not free tomorrow night. She thought me odd. I thought she was the odd one.

Like I'd meet someone after forgetting who I was and 6 sentences...I aint desperate....

They are faceless people on the World Wide Web......they block you, so what...do you care or give a hoot....I certainly don't. She could have sent a message saying thanks but no thanks then put the block on. That way she has been polite and avoided having the why not question or receiving abuse. I understand why people do not reply to every email they receive. I myself only reply to the ones that interest me. However if you have been chatting with somebody I think the game changes. I am going to sound like a whinging single male here but on this occasion manners come into play.

You may have thought the conversation was going swimmingly, she obviously didn't, hence the block. I've no qualms in saying no thanks but I've blocked people mid conversation because they've said something that put me off.

Exactly saves everyone time. In fact we had a guy who had contacted us for third time apologize and ask us to block him as he was afraid he would do it again..

It saves people wasting time. Yes some get blocked for being rude nasty others distance etc or any reason we would not meet them as well. It shouldn't matter to anyone else why or who we block it's our profile to use as we see fit to find people we want to play with. No one else needs too be able to see our profile etc so it shouldn't matter. Just move 9 to the next.

Not really. I use the block button as another type of filter. If I'm not interested I block saves wasting my time and their's. If they say something on the forum that shows their true colours I block. (That info is gold dust - why not use it) If they message me 'fancy a fuck'/don't read my profile messages I block. Friend requests without chatting (it's on the profile) I block. Yes I have more people on my block list than friend list but I am using the site how I want.I am sure I am on alot of people's block lists but that's fine.

To be on ths site means being able to accept rejection in many forms if you are going to remain relatively relaxed about it all. We get blocked for loads of reasons, people stop messaging sometimes when they've seen our faces the time to worry about it is when it happens in your day to day life.

We have put a meet up for next week and have had a few messages from interested guys. If Mrs Kink doesn't fancy them then we sometimes block them, this means when we put up meets at a later date then we have already filtered out guys that are not what we are looking for.

I think that counts as rudeness/offensivenes .

I guess I might say politely that what they'd said was really not appropriate, but then as a white Irish guy we probably have different takes on racism.

If on reflection, they realised what they'd said was wrong and apologised I'd move on....if they came back with worse, well then they're definitely in the rude/aggressive camp and reported and blocked.

I think the problem is that a block doesn't simply stipulation them mailing you, it makes you a non person. tHis isn't goingvto e the best comparison in theirs, but here me out a mo. In the real world, people split up or get divorced ask the time. Most focus though think the it odd when someone just walks out and disappears without a word, I don't know about you, but I find that odd. Maybe I'm just guilty of being true to the idea that whoever web and swinging may be a bit of a looking glass world some of the social norms do cple through to this side.

Our block button is used for all sorts if reasons , that's what it's there for , if they are rude/aggressive/2000 miles away or just plain strange , and yes even by accident before ( it's way too close for my fat fingers) but we generally always give them a polite message first before blocking. People always seem to get hung up on the negative sides of being blocked , turn it around and just think they have blocked for a reason , saves wasting time sending more messages or even a non show. Concentrate of the people that do want to meet you instead if the ones that don't

When we say thanks but no thanks to anyone we always say after that we won't be offended in anyway if they are to block us.That way it saves them in a few months time going through the same process when they have forgotten weve said no before.

I have only blocked 2 people,and the reason being that after me saying "thanks but no thanks" at least 10 times to both.I didn't enjoy doing it at all.

The block button works both ways. We use it when someone has deleted our messages without replying, basically to remove those people from our searches (so we don't risk bugging them again & coming across as creepy)

Blocked? ... then message received and understood!

Just don't consider it rudeness and you'll be ok.

Maybe they had a change of mind (something you said?) and perhaps they had no end of hassle in the past when they've politely said no to other people, so now they block. Easier for everyone.

i know some people that will block for no other reason than to avoid future contact, more in the context of people change user names and photos so avoids building up hopes and unnessesary messaging or appearing interested when all it was was profile surfing.

Rule 1 of internet meeting sites: No answer is an answer.

Equally for the singles then blocking those that they are never going to meet, or will never meet them really saves a lot of time and looking an idiot for re messaging when new user name/avatar appears .

dont take it perosnally is my advice as anyone that blocks really are irrelevant on every level. The ones that have blocked you couldnt care a less anyway, so why should you care?

Not at all we use the block button as a filter tool maybe we've read something in the forums that eludes to that persons character and we realise they are not the type of person we would meet so we use the block button

I agree, I don't want to send endless messages, its pointless. I've arranged a meet on Friday with a guy, exchanged a few messages, got on fine, sorted a venue and exchanged numbers. I don't need to chat to him every day until the meet, I don't see the point and constant messaging annoys me to be honest.

Some of the inboxes of single girls are so full they dont have time to go through and reply to every single one, so i dont blame them for using the block button to filter out those that have no hope.... equally as said above most couples and single girls dont have time to talk endlessly, decide on a meet place and time job done.

This place certainly attracts a lot of people that prefer to talk about sex over actually doing it.

I met my fwb through the forums, chatted for 4 weeks without the intention of meeting then met 2 weeks later and seeing him on thursday for the weekend

We had a very strange one had been chatting to a couple for a while getting on very well, we arranged to meet so sent them our phone number to make the final arrangements. Next day they had blocked us.....no message to say why very odd behaviour, but then thinking about it I think we had a lucky break.

That has happened to me with a guy who messaged me, pretty much the same thing, chat, seemingly get on, arrange a meet swap numbers then block. I guess he changed his mind lol.

I block because I don't fancy them.

They are out of my specifications on my profile.

I get an uneasy feeling about them.

They are bareback.

They and their house look filthy.

They keep messaging when I have said no thanks.

They have socks on with their tons of cock pics.

So many reasons. So so many .........

I hear that sometimes when couples give a polite no.. The other party will take the chance to say something rude back like 'we didn't like you anyway! To fat!' So the denied feel empowered.. Don't think of it as blocking, more politely nuzzled aside.

Would imagine it's so they don't get any hassle or why questions.....not everyone takes rejection on the chin.

We will usually just be honest and say if we have changed our mind for what ever reason rather than just block.

People are free to use the site and tools however they see fit. Take a block as a thanks but no thanks.
