fab under attack

I have been on many swinger/sex sites over the years, and I am wondering; is Fab becoming too popular?

I have been on sites - I am sure everyone is aware, where profiles are made to have people join - essentially 'bots' that are only there to entice people into a joining fee.

I am wondering if these same (more commercial) companies could be realising they are losing business, as fab is gaining popularity, and as a result - they could easily disrupt Fab with profiles that timewaste - putting people off.

Any thoughts?

"Fake timewasters as opposed to the genuine ones "

It is a double whammy I suppose.

The point I am making is, the amount of spam email address that can be made, there is no end to the number of profiles that could be made. If you are interested in meeting, it could well put you off and turn to another site.

I have been on just over 3 years (I think) and it does seem to have changed from a more personal or private site to quite a public one?

I have every confidence in the fab team to ensure this doesn't happen, fab has never come across as trying to rip people off and I don't see them allowing such things to go on

This tends to work on sites wwhere you have to pay a joining fee for functionality...fake profiles messaging you so that you believe someone is interested in you therefore encouraging you to pay membership to get your messages only to find that once you join nobody is there...dating sites are notorious for it...Fab has full functionality for free so there isn't any need for that kind of protection...

The think that the owners of fab manage the site quite well, we have been on here for 3 years and have never had a spam email and haven't come across many fakes to be honest

I Doubt it that other sites are playing games like that,i think i have a good selective process and way i.meet that i dont come accross timewasters, ive had people go quiet days before if dont answer When i send a message,i just forget it and move on,funnyly anough they peek at my profile now and again,so must be real, other sites wouldnt bother

Fabswingers is a good site costing me a fiver a month for extra options,a reasonable and fair ammount which they do make money, just not greedy like other sites

I am not talking about spam emails. I am talking about profiles that are set up and never used. People intern contact them only to lose interest as there "could" be so many if not kept in check.

I do hear of generic messages being sent to people. Messages that either dont apply to your profile or are distinctly not what you are looking for. (to play devils advocate)

I have just asked the same question in site feedback. The site does have algorithms that do filter out 99% of attempts to create profiles such as the above.

Was just a posit anyway

It is know that some profiles on most dating/shag sites is operated by the staff, leading on and say lets meet then you never hear anything from them, there been many programs on tv as well about it
