Having done many years of urban exploration u'd best bet would be site called 28 days later Google it. Not the film but urban exploration site and biggest in UK, although run by four wankers but that's another story. Hope that helps

Google uses data from 2003. 2005, 06. When urban exploration is about going in abandond buildings....the data from Google earth is way to old. Yes it is good to use it for mapping and planning your route to the building you be found through other sites but other than that its useless. Street view had its bonus sometimes to plan ahead as to where leave car if planning on entering some building you've found but that's about it again. Yes the best bet is do Google search for buildings closed in area you want, or check local papers webssites for info on factory closures and then do somemore research is always lots of places no one knows about. I was first one UK to photograph a site that had been locked up unexplored since 70's so know what is about researching places and access etc. The 28 days later site is good for leads and also good as people write reports on sites, so for a beginner or couples looking for places might be goof way of finding somewhere safe, as to be honest are lot of not so safe places on all sorts of levels. Research is your greatest weapon. Stay away unless prepared with equipment etc chemical factories and most industrial sites to certain extent. Hope that helps anyone looking for places
