Why does everyone on cam look older than there profile pix?

Is it the camera or are they old photos?

What does everyone think or know?

Its the opposite with me cause my photos are poor quality anyhow!

I don't view cams so can't comment on if everyone looks older than their photos.

Some reasons could be harsh lighting or the cam is up really close so shows up the odd line or imperfection more. Could be using older and more flattering photos....who knows!

Will say that those we have met generally look better in the flesh than in their photos.

If I was chatting on cam I wouldn't have a face covered in make up. The lighting wouldn't be flattering and my wrinkles would show more

I have noticed some pics are quite old.

Why they do that I don't know, won't come across good on a meet either, well it will come across worse.

I'm going to go with the harsh lighting theory. Plus people are usually going to choose their most flattering photos to put on their profile. I don't mean digitally altered like my avatar, that's to make it less recognisable. I mean photos taken in flattering lighting and at flattering angles. It's human nature to want to present yourself in a good light. Webcams are less forgiving than photos, what you see is what you get!

Very true. 20 pics to get one you are happy ish to put up.

When I used to go on cam unless they asked late at night when I looked a bit rough id make sure I had makeup on but have been told I look ok without but it's my personal thing

for me in some of my pics I have makeup on something I only really do when going out or 'dressing up' for fun . so when I am on cam I am just me and if that's not enough than they aren't for me

Erm photos on here I have some make up on don't put loads on if I go on cam..not been told I look older tho..I like seeing people on cam get a proper feel of the person rather than a posing pic x
