I don't know but its a cheap shot if they have no real excuse. Sometimes they have a genuine reason though.

We have never got to the stage of being stood up but we've had a few men who stop messaging when you get to the nitty gritty of meeting up.

Don't be too downhearted.

Your right some do have a valid excuse but many other like the idea of meeting someone but when putting that into practice the get full of self doubt and run for the hills.

Hopefully OP you will only suffer with this a very few times good luck.

I've had 3 no shows in 3 years, 2 social and one hotel which I was not best pleased about. Had many amusing excuses the day of the meet but never traveled there so just had a giggle at the excuse and moved on. Who knows why people bottle it, many reasons, bigged themselves up too much, lied about something major or just had no intention in the first place. Best not to dwell on it, find someone who will meet

Sometimes you sort of get the vibe it may not happen even in advance

In those situations have a plan B of your club membership card wirh you so at least you can work that frustration off!

It's sad. Even though I am no seasoned veteran, I have quickly learned that this lifestyle is not for everybody. There are loads of people that talk a good game, and truly think they are up for it, but when the time comes, the reality of it scares the shit out of them.

Truth be told, if I wasn't in this with my wife, I just might panic at the last second, too. There's a bit of un-naturalness to it that can almost choke you with fear. But it's a shame that so many good people are out there, ready to do this, and then they keep getting let down.

Comfort, trust, and chemistry are extremely important, and cannot be rushed. But in the end, a person has to know they are truly ready for this, and I guess a lot of them don't know until zero hour comes.

I'm the same as you, never been stood up but had a few gone quiet once a meet has meet arranged!

And when they do come back months later tail between their legs, their excuse has always been, they couldn't afford the money to travel!

As if I wouldn't understand if they just let me know before hand???? Pfft!

This has become a bit of an issue for me lately lots of let downs etc, I just block and move on no point in dwelling on they why's I just look ahead and see what adventurous the future might hold for me

No idea and had a guy message me to say he was leaving in 10 mins but never turned up, had me standing freezing cold in a car park of a pub with no cover from icy winds for 30 mins, during that time, no single males came into the car park, went shopping instead, bought myself a nice fake fur wrap instead
