I'm not a girl, but Rock & Metal covers such a wide genre.

It might be easier to list the type of bands you do like

I like Saxon, not so much Slipknot

I can cope with Slipknot, mainly because I know Corey Taylor has a brilliant voice. My taste varies from Alice in Chains to Pink Floyd, Marilyn Manson to Metallica

Sorry for jumping on your post (so to speak)

Just under 30 years I have been listening to my rock / metal (along with many other things) If I like something, then I like it. (not arsed what genre it is!!)

(Yes, I know some of these bands fall slightly outside the grouping and dates)

From mid 80's Thrash Metal scene (Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Sepultura, Pantera, Xentrix)

To the cock rock 80's hair metal.

Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Love/Hate, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Skid Row, Faith No More, The Almighty, It Bites early RHCP)

To my musical life defining 90's grunge.

(This was when it felt the most to me)

Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Temple of the Dog, Mad Season, Mother Love Bone, Hole, Screaming Trees, Stone Temple Pilots, Brad, Satchel, Jane's Addiction, Smashing Pumpkins)

To some stuff after that.

Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot, System of a Down, NIN, Muse, 30 seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters)

And random other stuff that I just like.

Zeppelin, The Doors, Maiden, Kings X, Dresden Dolls, Queen, Rush

There will be a load of stuff I have missed off.

I do like my music (Stuck a little bit in the 90's)

And if I like it, I like it.

Sorry to 'Ramble On' pun and joke intended.

Great to see so many fans, and interesting to read all the different bands.

May have to check one or two out.

Big fan indeed.

And yes, classics.

Chris's voice I think is some of best in rock not just the Grunge scene.

And Layne voice was just amazing.

You could hear the anguish in everything he sang. Sad loss.

But big thumbs up for you also being a fan and knowing the albums.

Have to say love most music from Amy Winehouse to White Zombie.

I do love a bit of metal tho, from rockier stuff like The Black Crowes, Pearl Jam. Harder sounds like Soundgarden, Alice in chains, L7, Danzig and Primus to the harder stuff like Corrosion of Conformity, metallica, Slayer, Nailbomb and Megadeth. Bit of a 90's timewarp but hey ho.

I like loads of rock and metal (among loads of other music) - generally 80s style metal as that was my growing up time. GnR, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, etc etc.

More recent stuff I enjoy the most is Bowling for Soup, Evanescence, Me First & The Gimmie Gimmies, etc etc

I like loads of "rawk" (amongst other genres).

The first CD I ever bought was "nevermind"- I was 12 and I am quite proud of the 12 yr old me for that. (It wasn't my first album. I had loads of maiden on tape that my mate used to nick from Our Price).

In no particular order, I like: Pearl Jam (especially Eddie Vedders new directions), Nirvana, STP, Alice in Chains, the Foos, RATM, Metallica, Megadeth, Feeder, Therapy? the list goes on.

I am glad someone mentioned Primus on this thread - well underrated band.

Ah, a kindred spirit. I'm into most of those bands too, Lamb of God being my favourite. I soooo want to be in a "wall of death" at a Lamb of God concert! I've only seen them at the Brixton accademy though, not a wall-of-death-friendly venue.

The video for Redneck is awesome. Best. Birthday. Ever.

Zzyzx... Fantastic lyrics but then Corey is pretty much one of the best sing writer's ever!!

I'm (Mr Shy) a huge Slipknot and Stonesour fan, been to see them both. Two different styles but both unique in their own way.

In my opinion there's no better dirty sex music than listening to Subliminal Verses blaring out!!

Skindred are pretty good too, if youve never heard them give them a try

Would love to meet a couple into the same but not many about unfortunately

Ahhh The Cramps.... just about my best gig ever - manchester 1992 with Long Tall Texans as support. Quality wrecking, (made 'mosh pits' look like a nursery) black and blue for a loooong time. Lux was an absolute one-off 100% genius showman. In my list of top 3 regrets in life is passing up a ticket to see them round about 2010 in London on what I think was their last trip here. Still kicking myself. His genius has gone and yet Harry Piles still peddles his trade

Noooo! I had to stand through a set of theirs when they supported Metallica and really did not like them.

I agree and disagree, in that I think they have done SOME good music since then. However the concert I saw was the best concert I have ever seen. Good music, good stage show, just excellent. And it only cost £40!

couldn't believe how ignored they had been! On the note of Metallica though, I think they are brilliant and saw them at download 2012 when they played the whole of the black album and thought they were fantastic although James' 10 minute metallica- family chant was odd and tiresome

Love it love it love it !!!

Five finger death punch are amazing. Saw them in December and seeing them again in march. My fella didnt even like rock and now he does because of them.

Avenged sevenfold are amazing saw them in December.

Steel panther are just brilliant and very very funny live. Seen them last year and will see them next month.

Have seen metallica live, slipknot live, loads really.

I like pantera, rhcp, gnr, skid row, poison, whitesnake, system of a down, linkin park, there are literally loads I love and as soon as I post this I'll think of more I forgot to mention lol

But having said all of that we very often go and see tribute bands - they are awesome and they always play tiny venues so the atmosphere is really good.

Check out guns 2 roses, surreal panther, mentallica and poizon.

"Sorry for jumping on your post (so to speak)

May have to check one or two out."

That's pretty much how we look at our music tastes and I (male) def like heavier metal than the wife
