Hi all,

Was just pondering this and wondered if anyone else had similar thoughts...

When we started this, briefly it was to live out Kate's bi fantasy. We had very rigid preferences around all sorts of things too.

Now, we did that and she's long put away any panics of being lesbian, and is now what I'd call bi-playful - happy to go along and enjoy it in the moment but not something we actively look for.

Anyway, preferences got more relaxed, age limits melted away and we now find ourselves open to trying most things and even to the point saying, "I've never even thought of trying XXX why don't we? Maybe we 're missing something"!!

For instance, neither of us ever contemplating playing with the dom/sub dynamic, but sat there and thought why not?

Anyone else found through the freedom of swinging and embracing maybe one part of your sexuality, your now more open to others?

Just a thought and interested in your comments.

Until the age of 44 I had one sexual partner, my husband, in a very conservative relationship. I'd only ever had sex in bed with the lights out...now...what haven't I done?!!

I think we're fast heading that way

It seems like things we'd have frowned at before now seem to be on the "to do" list

Just wondering if it's to do with the sexual freedom, or rather acceptance from another person that allows those barriers to come down?

Oh well out in a club tomorrow so we'll see if any barriers get taken out!

Has anyone been adamantly straight - but then dabbled after being in the scene or anyone that has think that side was always there?

Straight as a die for 50+ years, then surprisingly found myself in a gay/bi male only sauna... 2 years later I still go regularly and love it.

I was straight for many years until I got chatting to a couple in a pub who invited me back for drinks...never thought about men sexually before then, the very thought was a bit 'yuck' but funny how things turn out.

Excuse the pun, I'm just curious

I suppose what I'm getting at that the more open you get with your sexuality, the more the barriers soften and some disappear altogether.

Just interesting to think that if you follow it to its logical conclusion, regardless of your initial preference, the more accepting your sexuality becomes to you and those around you, the less defined, and ultimately boundless it becomes...

Just thinking like...;-)

Interests in general change over time, so it's seemingly natural that sexual tastes change too.

There has been more recent evidence of sexual orientation changing too, amongst adults.

Most of this stuff happens unconsciously, though our choices obviously dictate what we do and don't get into. For example, the age of the people that you find attractive usually moves as you get older - so somebody that was not your type when, say 20, is very hot when you're 45 etc. I find it fascinating how this happens, other than people learning that they can't any longer go for the type of person that they usually had at their feet.

I think I'll always have boundaries but they get shifted by experience and experimentation. Things I would not have contemplated liking a few years ago I love now. While other things I thought I'd like I didn't really. So it ebbs and flows and is also very much dependent on the people I meet too. Things I enjoy with one person I may not enjoy with another and may enjoy different things with them and so it goes...

As long as I am open to experiencing new things and allowing things to unfold I think that will always be the case
