Ok. I am constantly reading on ladies profiles that they like a real man and hear them say it too. My question is for the ladies and that is what makes a real man?

A real man for me is a guy who is funny, nice, polite a little bit respectful, is happy just to sit in a bar somewhere socialising or watching tv. If there is a connection then bring on the fun

guess its different for each person you ask..

obviously all men are real

But i guess i prefer a man to be mascho/masculine.. have a backbone, stands up for his belefs, i like men who do physical work.. not afraid to get drty, is a lads lad.. enjoys beers burgers, footy/rugby

also like them to be gentleman, polite, not vulgar, want a man to look out for a partner and his family.

I don't like the expression 'real man/woman'. Obviously it's totally fine for us all to have our individual tastes, but this phrase implies that there are certain attributes someone has to have to be a genuine part of their gender, which is daft and restrictive.

I'll try:

Real man: Strong (physically and mentally), tough (ditto), intelligent, determined, resourceful, responsible, protective, honourable.

Real woman: Compassionate, caring, loving, nurturing, thoughtful, supportive, sensual, reassuring, dependable, diplomatic, loyal.

Ok, so none of those qualities are exclusive to either sex (not for a single moment would I suggest that intelligence is a solely male trait!) but when you look at any classic depiction of what many would consider to be an ideal man or woman, the qualities either possess will typically fall somewhere along those lines.

but they had fights and chopped each others body parts off. Plus they were all bi. And the men wore dresses and flowers in their hair
