Winks- sending winks is that just lazy ?

Sorry if this post has done the rounds.

What's people's view on this? I read some profiles that say no one liners so you spend some time introducing yourself and in a none rude manner and the message just gets deleted.

I'm not saying that every message should receive a reply however manners cost nothing at all.

So is the wink acceptable

I think its an okay way to show initial interest....if I like then wink back ...at least you wont waste time messaging someone who isnt interested.

Id rather have a wink from a great profike than a message from a crappy one

I don't mind winks they make my life easier,I can ignore them if I like or respond,they're just a little nudge to show interest

Initial interest, although getting increasingly annoying amounts for some reason from guys who obviously, can't read or can read and think fuck it ill give it a go anyways....

We use winks as an ice breaker. Any winks we get we check their profile out and if interested wink back. If winks we send are returned then we send a message, if we return a wink we then expect a message. So yes we find winks a good thing.

If we like the look of them we'll either wink back or send a message but there are so many single men that they need to stand out from the crowd

We like winks, its unobtrusive way of saying we are interested, or see it as such, if the other couple like they wink back or message and away we go lets sort out play time, on the other hand if we/they dont like then just ignore. Saves a lot of time, so when we do message then it is worth writing a decent one, as like anyone else a well thought out message or at least one with some words with more than one syllable attract us.

I think this is a couple thing and the singles tend to treat this like a dating site where the numbers game is played and a bit of extra effort is required to get noticed.

We like winks saves a fuck ton of time. As like the singles we to hate well thought out messages getting ignored.

rule 1 of the internet... NO answer is an answer.

this is how I use the wink, I recently received a messsage from someone I winked at, it just read ' what do you want, if you'd sent a message we would know' lol.

In my opinion fab should introduce a wink filter option. The user will then have the option to block all users or just singles or even couples, or just leave the filters completely unticked allowing all users to wink them.

One proposal here for the site owners to consider!

I tend to agree. I sends winks and if I get one back then I message and hopefully take it from there. J x

I appreciate all winks and messages. It is a valuable site feature that is great, imo. Easy way to test the potential interest out, without someone feeling deflated if their messages are deleted etc. Id not wink if someone said they disliked them, but I think it is a pity that some dont use them. That said,it is easy to get overloaded with messages and winks. I never see it as lazy, but wise.

problem is women have far to much choice on this site,i mean half of them if you see them walking down the street you wouldnt give them a 2nd look yet on here we seem to get sucked in and turned down hahaha

The difference being that the ladies on the street will are not likely to be as deliciously deviant as the ladies on FAB - so yes: the blokes outnumber the ladies 10:1 (lucky ladies!) but the ladies here love to play and tickle and suck and nibble.

The problem we have with winks as a couple, is that we generally look at messages together before replying, which is fine. But if we are looking at winks individually during the day, it's very difficult to then try and go back through them again at night and remember which ones are new. If the winks are from couples or women it's not too bad as there aren't that many. But with the amount of winks from single guys it's easier to just ignore them. This is why it's much better for guys to send a good message that will attract our attention and make us go back to it.

We do try to reply to most of our messages, but with if somebody just says hi and there's nothing on the profile, why should we be expected to make an effort if they haven't.

Tip - To improve your wink system if one of you is impressed from what you've seen on a profile following that user winking you.... You then hotlist them and check them out together as a couple later when you have time together...
