I've been messaging with a girl over the last few weeks who keeps putting off our meeting that she's supposedly on for.a few times she calls me babe in the messages.i've read elsewhere,if you are called that then don't trust who is sending it as its likely to be a fake profile.i would totally believe her profile was fake,but she has verifications.could those in charge of the site be putting fake profiles on? maybe some of these woman you send messages to have a guy at the other end strining you along.

Sounds to me like a load of old codswallop as in certain parts of England, its perfectly acceptable to them to call someone babe, not something I like though nor would I call someone babe.

I do suspect however that there are guys stringing people along as there are also women and couples

I dont agree,I think calling someone babe is kinda intimate. I call most of men women babe,a few dont like the term though. Who knows which are fake or real till you meet. I get chatting to a few, things seem to be going good then they just stop chatting. I know take it with a pinch of salt,talks cheap. Some people play games

If it's a fake profile - it won't have been put on by admin!

Are the veri's visible? If so have you checked the profiles of those that left them?

Are there profile pictures? If so have you used google reverse image search to see if they're genuine or nicked from porn sites?

Have you spoken to her on the phone? It's hard for a gruff voiced 60something male to sound like a 20something woman!

There's plenty you can do to protect yourself from 'fakes' - and at the end of the day if you're suspicious - block and move on. If the conversation is going nowhere and you're getting strung along - what's the point in continuing to chat?

There are ways to fake verifications. I'd look at them closely. Are they all worded the same? Do the people making the verifications stand up to scrutiny?

Above all, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is, babe.

With 24,000 people online at times last week and Admin having to make technical changes to the site because of the demand I think its fairly safe to say they dont need to spend their time setting up fake profiles

Calling someone babe doesnt make someone a fake.

Just tell her you want to talk on cam! Why are there so many people being confued over whether someone's real or not when you have the technology to find out? And if they say "I don't have skype" it's free to download and if they ay "I don't have a cam" then don't believe them because EVERYONE has a cam and if they say "I don't like talking on cam" then you say goodbye. It's so easy to be sure, i don't get why people don't just confirm.

Where I live it's 'love', where I swing sometimes in the West mids it's 'bab'...load of crap to think it's the sign of a fake profile. Maybe if someone who you've met at work or in the street calls you 'mate' they might be a SPY!!!!!!

Her explanation was that she had dated and shagged so many blokes it got confusing. After calling one by the wrong name whilst climaxing she decided it was safer to adopt the practice of calling them all babe

If you were in Wales you might get called Bach or Butt depending which part. If you were a friend of mine I'd likely call you Blod, short for Blodyn meaning flower. Wow! Really hit a nerve there! I refue to meet anyone who won't come on cam because it's the only way to prove for sure they aren't fake. I'm sure there are many people on here who have the time and patience to show up for a meet and hope for the best but i would rather not waste my time. I would never even consider a meet without having spoken to someone on cam. Plus it means i can have a conversation with them and decide if they're my type of person. But i've found that the people who say "i have no cam" or " i dont have skype" to me, delete their profiles within 24 hours of my reply. Because they're fake. Lol!

If someone asked me to go on cam, I'd not be that interested. It takes me an hour to get ready from drab mode to glam and I only get to play once a week due to work. If I'm in glam mode, I'm off out doing something interesting

I just want a chat with anyone i ask to come on cam so i don't bother getting gussied up for that and i don't expect them to either. If they don't like the look of me on a normal day then they aren't going to want to see me first thing in the morning

Plus it gives us both the chance to walk away from it without any awkwardness if we don't like each other. I can only meet at weekends so i like to know there's a good chance of us hitting it off before the meet instead of going in blind and having a crappy night.

I have no cam, don't facetime, skype or msn but I am far from fake. What I am saying is you don't have to cam etc to be genuine and saying that you are 'fake' if you don't is a sweeping generalisation. By all means use your own method for ing out the fakes but saying 'no cam =fake' is wrong.

To be fair, everyone doesn't use a cam so not sure where you get that idea from. I don't use one and I do okay and besides, if I set one up, I wouldn't want to put up with guys waving their cocks at me thinking its the greatest thing since sliced bread as it actually does nothing for me so I would rather not

I don't have a cam (tablet and phone) and I don't Skype - after having a stalker I'm not sharing my Skype details. I also don't do phone contact for the same reason. I keep all contact through the site till we've met and I feel comfortable.

I also have a host of female friends who use babe when talking to me and other friends both male and female.
