SNOB?

Sometimes good people(including myself) organize parties/mini parties/ fuckfests etc. If you happen to be invited or you express interest in attending, is it nice to demand a roll call of who and who is attending? Or does that make you as a SNOB? Will a mere summary of the list( example 16 fems, 27 guys, 6 couples etc) be enough?

I think it's a reasonable request, but equally think that only providing a summary is not an unreasonable response

I fail to see how asking who is attending is in anyway linked to being a snob?

Interesting question! I suspect the answer is 'it depends'

You mention 'demanding a roll call' which sounds a bit much. Obviously some people attending might not want their details shared with someone they (presumably) haven't met yet.

On the other hand, I can understand a potential attendee wondering who else is going - that in itself doesn't make them a snob, just that they might want to decide if it's 'the sort of people they want to meet'.

On the other hand (yes, I have three hands!) someone might ask because they want to make sure a particular person is or isn't going to be there, if it's maybe someone they have met and hope to meet again (or conversely never meet again!).

Confused? Me too. I suggest you check with the other attendees, and only share the info they're happy to have shared. Hope it goes well!

Don't think I'd want to go to a party if I didn't know who would be there. If that makes me a snob I'm fine with that. My happiness is more important to me than what other people think.

Nope doesn't make you a snob. I think most people would want to know who was attending and I don't think it's unreasonable to want to know.

I sort of take the view that a party is an opportunity to meet new people and not knowing is part of the fun. I would assume that if I was being invited the organisers would have decent taste so wouldnt be worried who else was going.
