i've no idea but would imagine....less....so many marriages break up because of adultery hopefully if they swing there is no need......

I would guess the same average, though some couples will benefit from the openness of swinging, others must find it introduces tensions.

something ive never thought about, be interesting to find out the numbers tho

altho im not as yet devorced, i have split from my husband after 9 years of swinging together, we'd been together 17 years, was nothing to do with swinging why we split tho, but i dont think having the openness of swinging will save anyones marrage, wether you swing or not some marrages just arnt ment to be

i would imagine that genuine swingers are by definition very honest and open in their relationship so a marrage should last longer

but there are some who think that swinging will save a failing marrage, it wont

Over 20 years ago when it was known as wife-swapping, 2 couples across the road and living next door to each other started swapping, it was of course the talk of the street!

However, it all fell apart with both couples divorcing, and 1 hubby getting together with the other wife and disappearing into the sunset together!!

well we've been married 32 years (yeah I know I was a craddle snatcher) and enjoyed every minute of it, been swinging 5 years now and enjoyed almost every minute of that too.

Must admit we have seen a few couples who thought swinging would save their marraiges, but it hasn't.

Can only speak for us but think you have to be very secure in your marraige to swing or it has potential to cause great problems - thankfully we are very secure lol

We don`t think swinging could save a marriage that has other problems, but if swinging allows couples to experience things which would perhaps be thought as adultery then maybe it could help if the problems were purely sexual?

we would say its about the same,for us the honesty,openess of swinging have probably made us stronger as a couple but then in all walks of life the tensions of the real world are the same and not every marriage ends due to adultery

Strange that! We also know of a couple, local to us who met another couple to play. They are now divorced and married to each others ex-partners!

We know more swing people separated by the death of a partner, unlike in the "Vanilla" world!

we got married just over 30yrs ago, but chatted about swinging nearly str8 away, but thought we'd wait for the kids to come along, grow up, and then leave b4 we would get into it..so it was 19yrs b4 we started swinging but its not part of our life and never will be...xxxxx stella

Been married for 23yrs now. Been ups and downs but since we started swinging, we've noticed we are closer physically than we were before. Seem to be more open now with each other and have learnt more about what we want in the physical side of marriage. So far it has enhanced our marriage. Kids have noticed the difference too. Dad takes mum out bowling more often!!!LOL
