To be honest, it wasn't intended as a 'look at me' thread.

I do reach out and send messages, although not as crudely worded as was suggested by some predictables. The ones I am interested in/initially attracted to, either politely decline as I am not their type, or wield the distance axe.

I do get the odd ones that are in my area, but rarely do they appeal.

I do not shag out of despair, nor out of sympathy.

So the question was more in the vein of, How do I attract the attention of those that also would like to meet me'?

I guess that's the $60,000 question for most of us here.

You're not the only one. I find I am more successful in cities miles away from me as local men just are not interested. But hey, reading their posts on here grumbling about not being able to find single women interested is at least entertaining.

My dear almost-namesake - socialising in The Sticks is not exactly without its logistical problems.

But - since I posted this thread and left a comment elsewhere, things seem to look up a tad. Contact has been re-established and a meet in the new year might be well on the cards.
