Dogging Tales (c4 docu)

Did anyone see it? Thoughts?

I can't help but be miffed that they only chose to show rather brain dead people who partake in digging... and then the film maker try and assume that there's some deep psychological meaning/previous trauma that means they behave in such animalistic ways. I mean, seemingly there was this lady who uses her sex appeal to gain power over herself after struggling in the past with anorexia... but that was only touched upon...

I know I shouldn't have expected much from channel 4, but I at least expected some people to have more than one brain cell between them, and be able to have an informed debate with this quite clearly biased film maker...

Also, the odd couple, who ate KFC at the end... do people like that really exist??

anyway, any other thoughts?

As far as I was aware from when it was first shown a few months ago that yes they are real people and on this site too

It was a truly awful documentary. Given anonymity, surely the film maker could have found some better people to talk too ?

Oh crikey... I did think they would probably be on here, hopefully they wont see this thread... I have a special hatred reserved for the fella with 18 kids and with a cock too massive for a condom to fit... Does he really think that? I mean really? I thought the film was probably quite old, but I saw it pop up on 4od and was curious.

duly noted :P Not sure any are local! But they as a whole are not a fair representation of people who are into dogging and swinging!

All half wits probably sourced from the local psychiatric ward!

Was he the KFC fella? Poor chap, he only really did it to keep his missus satisfied. You could tell that from the beginning. Poor chap. I genuinely felt sorry for him.

You'd sure think so. I've met some pretty intelligent people who are into dogging. In fact there was a brief chat with a larger lady getting ready for her meet, she didn't seem like the others at all, but they never followed up with her.

I wonder how badly the same C4 producers would paint a similar programme on swinging...bet it would be awful

I think that is what a TV producer would call 'good tv'

I know exactly how it would pan out. They'd hunt down similar characters like they did for this dogging one. Simple, working class types who use it as an escape from their mundane lives. A free form of entertainment. Then to the other side, the rich, alcohol and fueled, keys in a pot sort of thing. With lots of rich old men who like to flex their muscles (and bank balances) with their thai brides and bunny boilers. Most certainly paint it as a seedy affair. These 'sex' themed documentaries c4 periodically churn out always irk me. There was the 'big fat fetish' one, and the 'human baby' one, turn relatively normal people with individual kinks into freak shows. Fuck knows what they'd turn a programme about me into considering my biggest fantasy is being raped... no doubt some deeply psychological bullshit. It's a fantasy at the end of the damned day and I'm happy for it to stay in my head. Same for the participants of these films. They are sharing something very private about themselves, just a part of them and their mind. It doesn't really concern anyone watching the films (unless they share the same kink) I don't think they deserve to be ridiculed really... Even if they did sign up to it... sigh... I'm waffling... sorry guys!!

I think so lol, he was definitely doing it for his wife, he was the one who didn't like it when his wife was getting some attention in the woods and he wanted to go home.

Felt a bit sorry for him but it did make me chuckle

I saw it on first broadcast at the time. Thought it odd and badly put together. There was probably another way to tell the story without it just seeming like the filmmakers were sniggering at the participants.

Can't help think they hired some newly graduated film students to do the filming... why was there such an emphasis on making it look so damn arty? I think we all get the link with wildlife and dogging without getting them all to pose in stupid animal masks.

You're right. The fact people are commenting on it, all be it adversely, all these months later will please the producers.

kinky heaven

These shows are edited for entertainment value.

Its entertainment that's it.

Doesn't matter how it is portrayed

The whole thing put dogging in a poor light I have been going dogging many years before the Internet ruined dogging.

They couldn't have found a worse bunch of people to be in the program.

Anyone who knows anything about dogging will know that is not a true reflection of it.
