Nope. That usually means it copied & pasted.

But 'im so and so how's you?' gets on my nipples a little.

Why bother sending an email just to make me read your profile & have to make an effort in making a conversation work?

If i contact someone i read their profile.

Then if something attracts me I'll contact them. (same with forum posts)

Even in a bar or club people start with hello how are you doing and if their is intrest than the conversation starts their is no point me talking about moons and stars while the response may be no thanks lol

That's true to an extent and we do reply to some one line messages. The ongoing conversation is far more likely to have a successful outcome if an initial message is slightly more open though.

It amazes me how many people that have this on their profile do it themselves. Weeds out the more arrogant people I think. Such as a couple who have messaged me (now blocked) saying 'u gt face pic?' then a couple days later 'cum here @9 for BJ then leave'.

I think it depends more on what you say than if it's a one liner or not. If they'd just said 'hi saw your profile and we are maybe interested do you have a face pic please?' ... Well you can see the difference.

You make it sound as though there's nothing between a one line message and an essay.

If you want to start a conversation, write something interesting which can be the basis of a conversation.

Asking how I am is pointless since it's just something to say. It's not a genuine question.

A one line message, to me says "Here I am, please start a conversation with me". If they can't be bothered to write something to do that, why should I?

If I was in a bar and a very attractive man approached saying "hello how are you?" with a smile I would probably reply. If I was in the same bar and an unattractive man gave me a lengthy speech on thermo nuclear physics I probably wouldn't. Its all about context, the person doing the messaging and what's on offer.

We can understand 1 liners. It must be soul destroying for decent people (even singles lol ) to write a unique full message to everyone and then get totally ignored. We think theres definately a place for a stock message that says someone is interested and get back if you want to go further etc.

I'm quite happy with one well written sentence as long as it shows my profile has been read.

I try to respond to all messages and the Hello how are you' s dont bother me. Its an opening gambit after all. May not go much further but I prefer a message to a wink or an unsolicited friend invitation.

We try to answer even the one liners but we tend to send similar effort back.

One liners where the profile has no pics and a one liner to describe themselves such as. 'If you want to know more message me' tend to just be ignored. Can't believe anyone would expect to get anywhere like that.

Does it make any difference if you say one liners will be deleted in your profile as people still send them.

We don't like one liners, we like some content in a message, something that will get our interest and make us want to reply. We also don't like text talk.

Surely if you are trying to impress people with an opening message and subsequent messages it has to have interesting content.

All people have personal preferences and if you don't agree with it fine, but why bother to send one line messages if people say they don't want them, a good way to alienate them and get you nowhere.

My profile states I get little free time. The amount of people asking if I am having fun tonight or if I am having fun at the weekend drives me bonkers. Its very unlikely that I am having fun as I have the kids on average 29 days a month.

A guy 20 something messged me to say he was sorry to see I was poorly and wished ne a speedy recovery. Then in the next message asked me how I was finding the site. I mailed back saying read my verfis and that will tell you. Clearly he didn't read the lack of free time. The age preferences bit and the ill bit. But then also how I was finding the site!

Those guys annoy me. If they read my profile they will maybe think twice about mailing me.

The ones that do read I am always pleased about but tend to one I don't find them attractive or they are not into the club scene and want a 1 on 1 meet which I often don't.

A message that shows they read my profile is always good x

I find there is very little differentiation in terms of response between a well considered introduction mentioning something in someones profile to show you have made an effort, and a one line introduction. Therefore why bother?? The vast majority of messages either way are not replied to with the recipient not looking at a profile so it doesn't encourage people to make an effort.

I actually think that this hatred of one liners are more from couples and fems because they get so many msgs, they become jaded and can be extra choosy and picky. Such is life in some swinger situations where single men are seen as negatives at the start and over charged for the privilege of subsidising others at clubs.

I can't meet everyone who messages me. I need some way to decide whom to continue chatting to and whom to decline. One way is a face photo and another way is the first message.

If the first message shows they have read my profile, there is a better chance they match my preferences than if they've just sent the same one line to every woman within a 100 mile radius. I say this based on my own experiences here.

As for clubs charging men more, that's simple supply and demand. More men want to go than women and couples (usually) so they use price to balance the numbers.

Most men wouldn't be happy if the price was the same for everyone but 99% of the people in the club were single men!

I don't ask how they are in return because I already know they'll tell me they are fine or something similar.

I don't have an over-inflated opinion of myself at all but repeatedly telling strangers I am fine is tedious in the extreme.

Ask me something you actually care about. Ask me something random. Tell me a joke. Tell me what appealed to you to make you message me. Anything but hi, how are you or something crass!
