"Remember that you are under no obligation to play. Don't feel that you have to say yes to anyone. If you want to just observe on your first visit that's fine. I often go to clubs and don't play but have a great night. I learnt early in to say thank you but I'm fine/not right now/no thanks to people and they're ok with that. A few ask why or get a little whiney/sulky but I tell the ones who ask that I'm not feeling any lust and the whiney/sulky ones just reinforce that I was right to say no! Remember there's no touching without an invitation - and that goes both ways so keep your hands to yourself! If anyone does touch (rare but can happen) I find the loud shame treatment works "did I ask you to touch me? Don't you know the rules? Would you like me to get a staff member to explain them to you?" - they generally slink off mortified. Above all relax and enjoy yourself. Chat to lots of people, you'll make great new friends even if they are people you wouldn't play with. And if you like the look of someone then hello is always a good opener - you'll kick yourself If the only guy you like the look of slopes off early and you never even said hi!" very good advice | |||
