Seriously Shaggy.

I'm going back a few years now.

It smelt a bit stale, so you know when you can squeeze the upper part of the back of your throat so you are only breathing through your mouth (and your nose is blocked) I did that and thought, sod it, if I can't smell it, it won't harm me.

But flippin heck, as soon as my tongue made contact it flippin went numb!!

So at this point I couldn't taste it either, so just carried on

Errmm I know that soap can upset the acidic pH if the vagina but there are liquid washes especially made fir the area, aren't there? What a post topic.....We had so much fun reading it all, sissy wants to add his experience.

I met a woman on another site who smelt. She didn't smell generally but when I went to go down on her I came straight back up again and decided fingers were the better option. I know this is going to sound gross, but the smell was identical to the smell when you open a can of Tuna chunks in Brine. Gross but that was the exact smell

That's bacterial vaginosis.

It's not sexually transmitted but can be caused by an imbalance. Which can be triggered by overuse of perfumed soap, bubble bath, synthetic clothes (like tights) and even washing too much.

Women do not need to use femfresh or similar products, water and mild soap like simple or even aqueous cream. Some docs recommend washing with just water and no detergent.

I don't agree. Most of the people on here are not being disrespectful. No one is identifying any other person they have met. We are simply discussing an issue that some have encountered.

The woman I met was a lovely lady and we had a nice afternoon. I've met her since, albeit socially and we continue to keep in touch.

I'm sure some of the women on here have encountered men who's private regions smelt a bit untoward. That can also be for a number of reasons.

I agree that the forum is here for healthy debate among other purposes. It does also enable you to see how other people think, the terms they use to describe women and men how they refer to people they have met and regardless of naming people or not their level of discretion, I find this very useful. The more informative and slightly more respectful posts in this thread are useful too.

I think I would rather be told if it was me. Because I might not be aware of the problem and would want to do something about it. For instance, if I had body odour, I would want someone to mention it to me in a constructive way. Then I could address the problem. It might be a very difficult conversation to have.

all fannies have a natural odour which in my opinion is normal but not very nice, however if someone smells to the point that people have to up sticks and leave id suggest that's not a case of not washing it for a day and they probably have some sort of infection, and I don't mean STI, that needs looking at, the problem now days is more and more women are using these feminine products and they just make matters worse for a lot of women as they wash all your natural bacteria away which we need and in many cases cause thrush, so in a way it could be the 'cleaner' women with the smellier fannies

Human smegma

Both sexes can produce smegma. In males, smegma is produced and can collect under the foreskin; in females, it collects around the clitoris and in the folds of the labia minora.

Saw an advert for Vagisil on the telly last night. Does anyone use that stuff ,and you surely must be too embarrassed to buy it cos its basically saying look at me ive got a smelly fanny and ive bought some stuff to sort it out

Vagisil is for feminine itching, not smells and why would I be embarrassed to buy it?

Balance Active gel is for smells (BV) and it works wonders and no I'm not embarrassed to buy this either....

I know when I have a PH imbalance and get it regularly due to medication and I still over wash, therefore my vagina gets irritated.

I just avoid playing at these times, I'm lucky that I'm aware of when my body changes, some women don't notice.

At least I get the issue resolved. It's life, my body reacts to my medication and I have a habit of over washing, been told off by my nurse, as its stripping all my natural bacteria.... Just a habit I find hard to break.

You obviously have the problem with my honesty, do you think I ought to be embarrassed by admitting this, or would you rather I meet and knock you dead with the smell of BV?

I'm pleased that I'm aware of when I need treatment, as I said previously, some women are unaware and that's embarrassing!

you wash first then use powder because it smells nice and keeps you dry, same reason you use deoderant.

I've had BV through the Mirena coil, (it was discovered through normal GUM clinic testing that all us healthy adults are meant to have ), but it has been asymptomatic. You may think I simply am unaware of my "smell". Well ever since I was a teen I have become aware of my pheromones changing according to my menstrual cycle. As a teen I'd ask my mother to sniff me because I was so conscious of it. She couldn't even detect it. I even know when I am ovulating due to my smell. It's horny, NEVER offensive.

Oh and asymptomatic simply means without symptoms and that includes the offensive smell you've been talking about.
