Actually this is not true.

Viral infections such as HIV and Hep B are very seldom transmitted through oral. HPV is but only some strains.

Herpes is as well but only type one (which causes cold sores) which 90% of population is a carrier anyway an I would imagine you would not play if you saw someone had an active cold sore.

So the actual risk is for the transmission of chlamydia and gonorhea which are both bacterial infections and easily treated with antibiotics.

Sounds like you should stick to being safe. It only takes one with something like clamydia and you'll wish you hadn't.

I guess it all comes down to risk and reward, and the balance of probabilities. The risks are slight, but you cannot neglect them. If you have unprotected anal sex with someone who has H.I.V, you will catch H.I.V around one in every thirty or so occasions. I am not prepared to take that risk. There are though, unfortunately, many who do...... I got gonorrhoea when I first started swinging in the throat so it's not that unusual, I suspect most people just don't admit it because you feel dirty and like a tit. My GUM clinic usually congratulate me for being a responsible swinger. They also told me the risks are significantly lower for unprotected oral, they always do mouth, vag and anal swabs as well as blood. The risk assessment I've made for myself is that in 30 odd years of sexual activity I've had one dose of clap when I was a teenager in the pre AIDS/safe sex days. I get a full suite of tests every 3 months and if I were to have a cold sore, I wouldn't be kissing anyone, let alone sucking their cock/licking pussy until it cleared up...obviously, were I to catch anything and it seemed to be from oral, I would reassess - until then, I'm happy with how I play. Personally; I would not want to be infected with hepatitis B or C, herpes simplex, HIV or HPV.

Google or use wikipedia for the complications as these infections can, ultimately, kill.

Chlamydia can be treated but may cause infertility and miscarriage in women.

Syphilis is one of those infection that is making a big time come-back; it has a very long lead in time after the initial, sometimes minor, symptoms and unless you are being screened in a GU clinic, very few doctors would consider it as a differential diagnosis. the above advice I actually got very similar advice from the clinic.. I have asked many times as I used to do major greedygirl sessions.. talking double figures oral sex every session... So I asked in great detail...

I was told that the risk is significantly less.. the risk being highest for chlamydia and gonorhea and the main risk being herpes..

I can also go on sheer numbers.. I have sucked LOTS of cock unprotected in fact have only once EVER sucked one with a condom on.. and NEVER again..

And I have never so much as caught a cold from unprotected oral... and trust me... the numbers are against me on this one...
