...what does it mean within the context of swinging - I see it on profiles all the time. Does it simply mean 'employed' or employed but in a 'professional' capacity ...?

It is how someone has described themselves in the context of profession, or are seeking similar.

Nowt more.

People will throw verbal mud at them. Yet I have not seen on many occasion,the mud slinging being done in reverse. It maybe also be, how someone conducts themselves in work and out.

in the context of Fab its a term people use to describe themselves indicating that they're in work.

Sadly I have seen vitriol directed at both these people and those who are out of work.
