So i'm travelling up on Thursday to see the OH but have decided to fly, meaning i have to a) limit what i'm taking and b) not bring anything that could cause trouble at security ...

So my question is... how do i cater for 4 days without being embarrassed at security...?!

Anyone ever snuck a toy through?

Though it was in a toy case and nothing was mentioned when they looked through my case.

Yep.. And got caught and asked to say what I had in my bag that was electrical...

I mentioned everything other than that, and looked straight at the guy, who asked me again if there was anything else... Oh the shame! Lol I stuck to my guns though and he didn't pursue it, although the amount of eye contact we had spoke a thousand words lol

Went through the automated pay bit at Asda yesterday, put using my own bag in on the screen. Placed own shoulder bag there and it said 'please wait while we verify your bags. Suddenly remembered I had a leather gimp hood in there I was dropping off for a friend. Stuffed it in my pocket hastily before they looked in the bag, hoped they wouldn't think I was trying to shoplift something and search my pockets

Take the batteries out as a vibrating bag will be taken out of the aircraft and given to you to open the case and sort it out, seen it done to someone in front of everyone in the gate lounge.

Also make sure your bag is not too full to bursting point, as I saw one bag at the reclaim belts had burst open and the darling baggage handlers had put three big dildos back into the case so they were sticking out on show for all to see. Funny for everyone except the person whose bag it was.

It isn't only swingers who fly with sex toys, the customs men must see hundreds of these things in cases. Your sex life is your own business and if they saw something and made you feel uncomfortable they wouldn't be behaving very professionally.

They go through all the time. If your bag is pulled to be searched you are quite entitled to ask for it to be done in private if you don't want everything laid out for all to see. You are also entitled to ask for a female or male security officer (as appropriate) to do the search.

I've travelled with a selection of toys in my carry on.

At security they were spotted on the x-ray as any electrical items will be and my bag was opened. It was, by chance, a female security officer and I simply said I was travelling to see my boyf and had some stuff in there. She lifted a fee clothes slightly to one side and looked. And looked. And looked.

Then she gathered herself and put the clothes back down and said that she thought that was everything have a good flight!

As someone else said consider removing batteries as they often check battery operated items cos detonaters can require a battery. Don't pack handcuffs in carry on luggage. Ensure that there is a layer of clothes over anything so if you are asked to open your bag nothing is right at the top. And if you do get asked to open your bag you can ask for a woman officer to do it and also to ask to step away for a little more privacy.

The worst that will happen is blushes or impressed shock. Security staff have seen it all before and as long as you have nothing explosive they really don't care.

I take a toy everytime i go on holiday. I put it in my luggage, not hand luggage. Iv never had any problems, although an ex did get his bag searched when we went to portugal and he had porn mags removed
