We rarely get those or any abusive messages after we have sent a 'thanks but no thanks'

But if they didn't always 'expect' a reply, then they wouldn't frustrate themselves and blame everyone else for it!

Maybe they should stop doing what others ask, and start to value their own worth...

I find myself in agreement with you on many of your posts, although we have different views on certain subjects.

There is so much to gain from being polite and so little from being rash and rude.

some people are so rude! it appears some people don't have any high expectations of men just taking it and saying 'ok thanks for saying' which Is the response I get when I have to send a thanks but no thanks message. and as for the person commenting on spelling, is that all you have to pick at? I bet the only reason half the people on this site spell correctly is because they have predictive text. because after all no one is perfect

I love this thread as I think many people men and women a like need to have some courtesy when it comes to rejecting someone.

I would cnp the site rules re the response, but I utilise filters so don't have the pesky problem of unwanted messages

I personally always try to reply , usually with "thanks but no thanks , good luck with your hunt Hx" think that is enough ! And have never had anyone return with a rude reply, but do often get the questions asking why! Which is a tad frustrating ! Because there is never going to be an answer you want to hear to that question ! And I do feel for the men on this site, I could not take the rejection they get on such a regular basis !

I've had a few ask 'why' and as much as I cannot give the truthful answer so all I can do is block them and make a little note as to why I did. It is not easy to take rejection whether you are a man or a woman but we cannot all be everyone's cup of tea! Eventually you will find the pearl you've been looking for! No pun intended Lol

We have never had a "why" message back. We always try and reply and to be honest we have never had anything other respectful messages apart from one doofus who got the ban stick.

Had our fair share of cut and paste messages though. Must come up with a cut and paste reply for them though.

I did used to reply to all messages where it was clear they had read my profile and included a face pic but got bored of being told I should be grateful for their attention as I was a fat/ugly/dirty slut/bitch/whore (delete as appropriate) when I dared to tell them they weren't for me. Where were the manners then?! If they bother to read my profile then they'll see a non-reply is the same as a no and so shouldn't be disgruntled surely?

surely their silence IS your answer op. I always thought silence sends a stronger message than any number of words could.

It has zero to do with manners as site Q and As clearly point out . Its the sense of entitlement people have expecting a reply from every person they message that I feel ill-mannered.

As people have said there are many reasons they don't reply from the person not reading profile to not meeting clear criteria set out . The biggest one for me is opening the whole "but why " can of worms .surely better use of time talking to those I may meet then ping pong message with someone I already said no as they just wont take a polite rejection .

i keep hearing about these 'hoops' that single blokes need to jump through to get a meet.

on our last profile, before the rewrite, all we said was dont message until we advertise we are after a meet.

no other hoops, whistles or flutes, and yet still loads of messages.

i swear people create hoops for themselves and then complain about them
