hey all. Ive always wondered what is the best way to grab someones attention. for me personally I always struggle with the first msg so I usually stick with the simple question of how are u? or would u like to chat? this is not everyones cup of tea I know but how would u start?

I never send a first message just generally respond to messages that are interesting ...i do not reply to messages asking 'how are you ? ' or ' fancy a chat ? '

I prefer to send a wink and if they wink back,I message them. To send a detailed message and see it's been deleted without even being read,is a complete waste of time and effort.

To be fair, I never really found it a science.. I write some emails and put something I thought was amusing or silly, usually something on their profile that made me smile, and I just say hi and leave it at that, if she's up for a giggle, then maybe she'll message me back, but I'm cool if they don't.. Most of the time I'm making myself laugh as I'm writing them anyway

I just delete messages like that. To me it smacks of laziness. It makes me think they sender does not read profiles and messages many people daily.

Sounds like an automatic delete to me, however like others I am drawn towards looking at the the profile before reading the message, (then deleting). The profile needs to be interesting, your's says buggar all apart from the fact you're married. That probably won't help either

hi all, interesting reply's to the question , but here's our problem, we spend the summer months working on Corfu. been on this site for around five months and managed to meet several nice couple's , but the admin have twice removed our profile for breaching site rules, also told us not to send out copy/paste massages (spam), which we used to do as a first contact, so now our profile is short because I cannot think what would please the admin, so at the minute we only massage people who :look at us: which I fairness is working very well, so its a bit like never judge a book by its cover when reading profiles, and why are there so many single men posing as couple? ...lov to all Connie xxx

What you have to remember is that everyone wants a different 1st communication, could be a 1 liner, detailed message or a wink... it doesnt bother me which one it is because ultimatly if your profile is shit or you dont have any public photos ( dont have to be face) then it would get my attention. If I got a message just saying "hi" and I liked the profile then thats fine by me.
