Venus club Grand Canaria

We just thought it a good idea to give people a quick run down about our recent experience at the Venus swingers club in the Cita centre.

To begin with, we were warmly welcomed at the door and shown into a clean and well set out club that makes best use of all the available space. Though the dark room which is triangular shaped and just about 3ft deep and 4 foot across at the curtain covered opening, was a tad to ambitious!

On entry we were shown around the club and were impressed at how clean the club is and the lay out, though perhaps an idea for the appropriators would be to display a drinks price list, more on that later. The play rooms are very clean with 2 open play rooms, one lockable room, one other open room which is kitted out with a swing and pyramid, then the the hot tub and pole dance stage. Lets say that the 1st impressions were, 'they dont get much better than this'.

For its size, which is not that big, the club was busy with mostly couples but a far smattering of single males too, and as happens on many occasions the singe guys had to be repeatedly told no and physically moved away from us and the couples who we were playing with.

The clientele of the club on our visits were mostly German or Spanish and they did tend to stay within small cliques. So much so that there is even an unspoken pecking order as to who should play in what room and when. Having said that, we should also say that we did have fun and met a few nice people and had a laugh. Perhaps the biggest laugh was when toward the end of the night while relaxing in the tub before making our way back to our hotel,we were approached by a Spanish couple and started up a conversation, unbeknownst to many at the time Val is a fluent Spanish speaker. The looks on the faces of some of the customers in the tub and later in the bar was something that had to be seen to be fully appreciated.

The biggest down side to the night by far was the bill. Entry for couples is free and your bar bill is totted up and you pay your tab at the end of the night. We had 2 drinks each all night and really wasn't expecting the bill to come to a few cents short of 40 euros. Minus the 3 Euro for the locker thats still over 7 euro a drink and I have to say that the bill left a bad taste in the mouth leaving me feeling as if we had gone back in time to a seedy swingers club from the 70s.

All in all Venus is a nice place but way to pricey. Would I recommend it? Yes but only if you spoke Spanish and German and were not as so many people are today, on a budget. There are other cheaper and better venues on the island

I actually sent an email to the owners of Venus asking them if they have a certain number of single males that they allow on an evening because I was refused entry and they didn't respond. Could you tell how many there were when you went or did the owners tell you owt about it? x

Have you tried any other clubs in PDI. I think you'll find they are all more or less the same in price for drinks. We go into 2x2 club, which is our particular favourite. Spirit drinks are 7 euros each, but if you go in during the first hour of opening, it is happy hour, so 4 drinks for 14 euros. When we first went into a club there many years ago, we were surprised by the prices, but when you think about what you are getting for your money, on top of your drinks, it makes it more realistic!! Enjoy your holiday!!

I actually sent an email to the owners of Venus asking them if they have a certain number of single males that they allow on an evening because I was refused entry and they didn't respond. Could you tell how many there were when you went or did the owners tell you owt about it? x"

I think you will find most of the clubs have a limit on single guys (apart from greedy girls nights!) they allow 1 single guy entrance for so many couples and single guys are normally charged an entrance fee!

Yes, I am fully aware there's a limit to single men at clubs as well as a fee

I just thought it a bit off that I got no reply when I asked the owners via website how many men they allow usually (bearing in mind that they politely stated on their website that if anyone has any questions they should just contact them) that's all

I totally agree with you there. It doesn't encourage people to go if they can't answer a simple question!

I went there and I knocked on their door, it must have been 22:00 in the evening and the German guy who apparently owns the place implied that there are already enough men inside because I wasn't allowed, but I just wondered how quickly does that club get filled with single blokes? Bearing in mind that Secret club starts getting busy in the later hours of the night...I'd love to have some experiences with German swingers but it just made me wonder whether I would be better off trying 2x2 and Secret next time...what are your thoughts Mrs and Mr? x

That does seem strange doesn't it, I didn't think they opened until 22.00. so it must have got filled up pretty quickly!!Haven't tried Secrets yet, but we may do next time. This may have changed, but I think 2x2 used to let in 1 single guy for every 6 couples (apart from Sunday nights, greedy girls). But from our experience recently, it's never consistent and it seems to depend more on who's in there, as some couples like to play with just couples and some like to play with single guys. I think it's really hard for single guys sometimes to get into these clubs and often hear of your experience. We wish you luck!! If you go into Worlwide forum on here, there are lots of posts re GC. The young lady who is a host at Secrets is often on there and she may be able to answer some of your questions.

Re single guys getting access to clubs. A lot will depend on how many local lads (taxi drivers etc) have said to the owners managers that they will be going. With at least 5 swingers clubs within the Playa del Engles area, competition is a tad fiercer than usual so the clubs tend to look after those that look after them. Single guys are always going to be 2 a penny and will always be expendable.

In our experience the best club for atmosphere and cleanliness has to be fun4all the least pleasant experience we had was at Secrets where when we got there they were still cleaning from the night before, which is fair enough. But when after having a few drinks we decided to have a dip in the Jacuzzi we were subjected to an almost overwhelming smell of sewage that seemed to be coming from the water, we had to get out, shower thoroughly twice and inform the manageress, who was missing so we informed the bar staff. We dressed, paid our bill (yup we did pay) and left. I am well aware that this may be a one of happening but the behavior of the staff and lack of concern shown leads me to think other wise.

One thing worth mentioning to anyone thinking about going to GC for a swinging holiday. You will bump into the same people over and over again no matter what club you go to so although the place may have 5 clubs, its the same people playing.

Our order of choice

1 fun4you with its absolutely faultless service and great atmosphere

2 Eternity Jose makes that club atmosphere rock

3 Venus is clean but cliquey and by far the most expensive

4 2X2 the cheapest club in the resort but the staff need to learn how to work a bar and not just favorite customers

and last Sectrets, that needs air conditioning, good cleaners, a properly equipped bar and staff that don't take it for granted that just because we are English doesn't mean that we don't speak Spanish or German, though to be fair on Secrets, all the clubs were the same. Many a jaw dropped as we were leaving and said our good byes in fluent Spanish.

Which makes it (in my humble opinion) even weirder to impose a limit on your single guys at 22:00, with an openning time of 20:00, especially if the guys whom you have already admitted were really annoying as you said. Why not just kick those guys out and bring in ones with respectful manners? Now, maybe I remember wrong and I knocked on their door on the night that they had couples only but even so, a fellow swinger couple in this site said that they spotted one or two single blokes on a couples-only night. I did like fun4all, I think it's a Dutch establishment and if we go with my partner to GC I will want to visit again. As for Eterrnity can I please ask, whereabouts it is? x

The full title for the club is New Eternity Swingers Club and its in the CC Nilo. Hope you have fun out here, the place is made for swingers lol
