chat room hosts

i'm not naming names but just wanted to ask a question about the roll of chat room hosts.....

Reason i'm asking is because i was in the chat room other day and one of the hosts, whos shall stay nameless was having a go at a single guy who was playing away, i kind of felt sorry for the guy because he was kind of in a no win situation because it was a room host doing the, what i felt was bullying, he wasnt in a posstion to tell the host to bog off and mind their own in fear of being booted, only after about 10 mins of this half the room was joining in with the host having a go at this guy for playing away.

Right.....now i dont agree with anyone who plays away thats not the point of this post, but saying that what they do is upto them and there is NOWHERE on this site that says you cant be a member of this site if you are playing away, so my question is..... what is the roll of a chat room host? i thought they was there to make sure the room was running ok and this kind of bullying to a member, who had broken no rules, was not taking place not to be a bully and the instigator of such childish behaviour? maybe if chat room hosts want to join in with such things they should have two names one where they are a host, none judgmental and just there to make sure the room is running well and another name where they can just be a member push their views on others if they feel they need to?

Surely none of us are here to judge others and their actions with in the site.

The rules for what i know when joining , did not state i had to be anything but a swinger.?

Be it attached or otherwise.

Surely this shoud be applied to the chatrooms ?

we can only govern our own morals and conduct, not someone elses .

seriously though, don't use chat and we're sure some chat room moderators do a wonderful job, it's a thankfull task, however when you read the stories on these forums it does put a lot of people off going anywhere near chat, just feel sorry for the mods out there who are doing a great job, as some often seem to let the team down.

The mods are there to make sure the chat is enjoyable for all and to make sure the rules are kept.

If you have any complaint about any mod you should report it from their profile.

exactley same as for every 1 else

Its funny reading this.. I remember something like this from another site and how if not nipped in the bud it can and does get ugly.. Seems trivial maybe but really can get out of hand.

I don't know who it is (genuinely) but there is one set of mods on here who were on the other site intent on causing trouble as and when they could..

They laid accusations that we were really a single bloke etc.. All petty stuff but caused a right stink at the time.. went on for ages.

Report whoever we say... Bullying is bullying.

As a regular 'Chatter' I respect your point of view PD but sadly disagree with it. I could also say The Forums come across to us 'non-Forumites' in the same way (and there have been a few Threads on this recently).

So I give you the same advice you give those of us getting a hard time in your Forum: 'Keep at it, we are a friendly bunch when you get to know us. You just need to be known.'

As for Mods being judgmental and abusive in a chatroom that is well out of order. They are bound by Chat Rules the same as the rest of us are. Whoever it was should be reported via their profiles where there is a link to admin.

I am a bit concerned we are seeing new Mods appearing who we have either never seen before in chat or only recently joined. Being 'from another site where they modded' doesn't cut it in my view. Mods are generally people who have earned the respect of people using the Chatrooms and are prepared to take on a rough old job. Importing Mods doesn't work for me however I am not implying it was one of these that caused the problem noted by the OP.

Well Well Well ! We modded on another site in the past, and we never used chat on this site, but now we are chatroom mods.

We have been told by site admin that we do a good job ... and I'm sure that if the time comes when that isn't the case that we will also be suitably informed

Would you prefer chat mods to be already regular users of chat who may feel bound to overlook the indiscretions of their chat buddies with whom they have a perceived loyalty ?

We don't feel affinity or loyalty towards anyone in chat and thus we feel more able to deal with any problems on a level playing field regardless of who the member is ...

Your Forum?? I feel a sense of goading here matey.. Its all our forums.. yours mine and eveyone elses..

Who are they chish?....I must have missed them as I havn't seen any new mods.

I think redhot has it right, not being in a clique in chat can make being a mod a much easier job.

I know mods who get too involved in peoples problems outside of chat, who call chatters up if they have a problem and who mail each other as friends.

Now I am not saying those mods are not impartial, but I do know it must make their life a little more difficult to be fair when they have to put their mod hat on, so I am not sure your idea of all knowing each other always works.

But yes, as has been said before ANY member including mods are answerable to the site owner, and should be reported if they are breaking rules.

i have heard the best way to become a mod is to fist the owners and then if u can shag them for a whole night none stop u win mod badge.

i tried to apply but my big fists scared the owners

I Room Opped a chatroom on a large webcam / chat site so I do have an insight into what its like. And I said what I did because I feel if you 'come from' that chatroom you get to understand the humour, the way people are (but within the rules) and have some sort of respect from the users as a consequence. Makes the task easier as often you just need a word at the right time to draw someone's attention if they are out of order. I think it makes for a better chat atmosphere.

Just my simple opinion and nothing more inferred or intended.

All the above would come with time with any new mod chish.

A good mod would watch more than chat at first to take it all in /find out who banters with who/ what peoples SOH is like etc etc, so I wouldn't worry, as long as they were fair in how they ban people, and I am sure if they wasn't, they wouldn't last long.

What I like about this site is, most members won't put up with anyone breaking the rules, so most of the time the members mod it themselves( depending on which room you are in )

Would say that if anyone has a problem with a Mod, they should (as has been said previously) report as normal. Not long back, one chat room Mod made a racist joke in the chat room and was subsequently banned from the site (although he has managed to get back on with his wife's couple account) so mods aren't above the rules.

RESPECT

is the name of the game an if u dont like having married men then be poilite about it but hell we all have something that irritates someone cant be helped in chat in scotland we talk to all we may not like what they have on profile but dont mean they are a bad person but be POLITE N RESPECT others it goes a long way on forums an in chatrooms and at socials when u meet , so be good have fun and play safe xxx
