Brighton - even Hove!

I was introduced to solid coconut oil. It's solid at room temperature then melts on contact with skin. Very sloppy and is good for your skin and absorbs easily.

I meant slippy not sloppy, my auto correct has a sexualised vocabulary.

Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Bergamot. Mixed in equal measures, they smell very nice.

You see I'm considering using lavender, jasmine and lime. I'm quite new to it, so I'm not too sure on proportions yet. Any suggestions people of fab?

problem with that is its a confused mixture. Lavender is a sleep inducer whilst lime is an energiser. Mix lime with black pepper oil, then add one of the tree oils e.g. Cedar for a bit more subtle perfume.

Oh rite, thanks. I've been reading on afew websites that lime and lavender do mix well but neither mentioned that it was a sleep inducer.

Say I wanted to keep the jasmine then, what do you think would complement that?

I quite like citrus smells but not overly keen on flower smells cos they smell too sweet and a bit cloying. Sandalwood or something as a base I suppose. I don't know tbh, just posting.

What I do know is that the oils in Lush smell disgusting and the ones in Neals Yard Apothecary smell nice. I like something that smells bright and fresh but with more subtle undertones that develop on ones skin as time goes on.

An almond oil as a base might be a good start.

I'd say it depends whether you are using aromatherapy oils for their properties or because you like the smell

If you're blending your own, be careful with the quantities in carrier oils. I tend to stick to pre-blended or ones made by some of my aromo-massage pals, usually based on what I'm trying to achieve (relaxation, stimulation, deep etc) rather than how they smell x Tx

almond oil is a good base oil - but some people are allergic to nuts!

Grapeseed oil (just like from the supermarket!!) is a great and cheap all rounder

Well this is how I got to the trio that I listed above, the properties were exactly what I was trying to achieve

Recently converted to this ... Lovely feel and smell, no thrush and kind to latex condoms too (so I believe ... non latex here!)

"Say I wanted to keep the jasmine then, what do you think would complement that?"

Jasmine has little proven effect, though it is listed as uplifting and maybe aphrodisiac (though I personally think that's just because it smells nice). As opposed to Lavender which cures everything, is an anti-septic that was used in wartime field hospitals, and well known sleep aid.

So use your Jasmine as a perfume with your lime as long as it's not lime flower? as that is also sweet, or with anything that is not smelling as good as you would like.

It will definitely be lime oil. Cheers for your help.
