Hi all, I was circumcised as a nipper due to medical issues and have found since joining here that some people have pretty specific opinions on it, especially in preference of it and thought I'd put it out there for wider discussion.

Comments or a simple necessity/no no/not bothered welcomed x

Unless medically necessary I don't see any good reason to do it. Assuming people wash correctly its not unhygienic as some people make out.

I've only ever been with one cut guy a d out of the others only had one bad experience with a guy who was uncut.

Well I say bad experience I could smell it before he had his pants off and just for research purposes I waited to see what the situation was.. Needless to say I didn't eat cottage cheese for a good few years after that!! Urgh!

my mum told me years ago ,she had my brother done cos as he was born in 1952, she said it was the thing then to have a baby done ,think it was for hygeine.

cant ask em about it tho as they have both passed away x

I prefer uncut as its just what I'm mostly used to.

Cut can be very nice too of course.

Due to a tight foreskin, I was cut at the age of 30. The recovery process was long and drawn-out. Two weeks off work, and constant worry about waking up with an erection, and hoping the self-dissolving stitches hadn't broken. Well they did on a couple of occasions, but you just have to get on with things and be patient during the recovery.

I wouldn't recommend it unless absolutely necessary, but I noticed how much better sex was after the op. Plus it's easy to keep clean.

Sweet Jesus the pain of the midnight erection .....I was done at 21 and remember it just as you described it . Like you was far happier post foreskin

Definitely happier post foreskin. Though I have to admit, sometimes I'd prefer to have a foreskin which 'worked properly' but now grateful for what I do have.

Unless it is done for a medical reason there is no other reason for it, and if performed on a child who hasn't been able to give true and fully informed consent then I view that as assault.

However what I feel is even worse is female circumcision where the labia and clitoris are removed and the vaginal opening stitched up so as to make penetration painful .

) and I'm very particular, especially about hygiene!! Whether your circumcised or not has no bearing on someone hygiene levels but I can image there are some horror stories out there!!

Saying that, Some ladies could do with sharpening their hygiene levels too!

Good point there..... Some women quite frankly, stink. Should they be circumcised too? Or just like men should they simply be more hygenic?
