Phone Proof Shut Him Up!

Darlington

I have had three or four messages from a chap I dont know, and never replied. To be honest I never really noticed them, and I wasnt trying to be nasty.

Last night he sent a message saying I was obviously a bloke, and he could back this up as his friends on Fab had confirmed it!

I asked him for Skype so I could show him all my lady bits, but he didnt have it, nor FaceTime on iphone either.

Eventually we settled on a phone call where I calmly explained that I am a female, smiling broadly as he spluttered and muttered on the other end!

I know I did not have to justify myself to him or anybody, but my husband and I had a great laugh hearing him backtracking with a no doubt red face!

Then this morning he starts messaging again, this time trying to pay me compliments!

Just wish people would think before trying to act like they know everything - only to be proved totally inaccurate. Him and his pretend friends.

Yeah, your probably right, but it was just nice that once to make somebody think about how stupid they are - judging everybody else by their own standards

sorry OP, there is a few sides to a story, this is mine.

I'm asked for a meet, and the minute I ask for a number(as its me traveling out)-things go quiet..

ever walked in to a meet and the female half isnt aware of who is coming?- u better believe it happens.. and can be fairly embarrassing to all parties

I dont know how the guy has phrased the 'ur a man' comment, but I think EVERYBODY should think of their safety, and one way of assuring that is by making sure u have had some communication before the meet.

if I didnt have a webcam or facetime etc..I'd be likely to ask the same

and it doesnt make me an idiot...in fact, it makes me smarter than some of the idiots who jump to meets at with very little information....

There was no plan to meet.

As explained above he had mailed me three of four times and not had a reply. I have sometimes had over 500 unread mails in the inbox before.

He took it upon himself to mean that I must be a man.

I had never had any contact with him, never mind trying to lure him anywhere and then a gang of 6 burly blokes jump out and smash him to bits.

The only basis he had was that as I had not rushed to reply to his cut and paste messages. This, in his eyes, meant I MUST be a man!

There was no meet ever on the cards. He accused me purely because his messages we not answered. Of course people are not going to meet random individuals without making the sensible checks. I dont think you are telling us anything we didnt know there.

So, I respect your viewpoint, but I think you have missed the point of my original post.

So now a guy who I'm guessing you weren't intending meeting has your phone number? It's not something I'd do myself but if you got off on it, fair play to you

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I wouldn't feel the need to justify myself to someone I had no intention of meeting, but the OP might be different.

Of course not - just set the iphone to withold caller id. Easy enough.

I never realised people sat and tried to pick holes in everything.

I can see why I never posted on here earlier!

Everyone is different but i think this guy played a game and won.

I wouldn't justify myself to anyone who doubted me. I'd ignore and if needed, block.

Their opinion of me is irrelevant.

He didnt really win anything except a large slice of humble pie!

I realise most people on here are clearly far too superior to ever have to stoop so low

Lighten up a bit. It was meant to be a bit of fun to give somebody a bit of an eyeopener, nothing more.

sorry never tried to pick holes to be honest, just stating the fact, things arent always as they seem..there are plenty of disillusioned people on the site of all groups

still no point in proving anything really if no intention to meet...anyway...was he wanking as u spoke?

Welcome to the forum!

I said it on another thread last night, it always amazes me how people post threads then throw a strop when they don't get instant agreement about what a wonderful thing they've just done or the opinions they've sought differ from their OP. If you can't handle folk politely posting their opinions of your threads then yes, I'd agree, don't bother posting...if however, you enjoy a bit of banter with a group of certifiable loonies then keep posting and getting involved on different threads; we're mostly harmless (nods to Douglas Adams)

Why would you even bother your arse to speak on the phone to someone you have zero interest in and who has accused you of being a man? Talk about play right into his hands

Yeah, right into his hands. As you were there and heard the conversation you would know that he got pure pleasure from what happened.

You live and learn I guess.

Maybe that's why the forum seems to be the same few people passing on their verdict on almost every thread.

Shame to see such disrespect for the OP who just wanted to share a story whereby she felt empowered. Good on her. Forums can be supportive and encouraging spaces if we let them. Let's try being that.

possibly but that could also be down to they are the only ones who want to take part. I'm fairly regular in the forums, I sometimes get people agreeing with me, I often get ignored, I sometimes have people disagreeing with me, overall its an enjoyable experience. I've learned stuff and changed my opinion in both directions about a lot of people. Stick around, you look like you can handle yourself

It doesn't make the forum a bad place just because people don't agree with you.

I wouldn't have phoned anyone to prove who I was either and I doubt if he was eating humble pie , it was probably more like...yay !! I got a woman to call me . let me see if she will meet me now too....which could well be true as now he is mailing you with compliments.

Which would be correct because according to your profile you are a couple.

Yeah, right into his hands. As you were there and heard the conversation you would know that he got pure pleasure from what happened. "

but...the point you said at the beginning was that you had no intention of meeting him anyway.... so maybe the question is "why did it bother you so much that you had to go to such lengths to prove him wrong?"....

he got to you... you bit...

in the game of "moral victories" I dont think anyone comes out looking like a winner... and maybe that is what comes out of this....

I'd rather concentrate on those people I like, as opposed to those I don't....

as someone else has said... no one is going to agree with everyone and everything you say on the forums, and it is how people react to that which can be as telling as anything else.....

Totally agree with you. If I started a dull as shit thread, such as 'what is the date today?', you'd get the same few suspects clambering over each other to make 'profound' and argumentative comments.

This is how forums work, people sometimes don't agree.

I think this has run it's course now
