Moaned at for sending a message in reply to a wink?

I use a wink rarely but assume its to show an interest?

I get a few winks then send a message and never get reply, some odd folks about or I've got the principal completely wrong!

If someone winks at me, I look at their profile but I don't send messages anymore even if they are my type

Pretty much the same for us too

We've had it too...had a wink from a couple outside of our age preference...just to say, thanks for the wink but you're not for us because of that only to be told not to get too heavy, it was only a wink! We have the same with single men...they often come back with a "it was just to show appreciation of your pics"...

We use winks to indicate an initial interest and take them as the same-now of course, we think twice about responding to them at all

I have send a wink by accident once or twice, maybe that what happened but still no reason to be rude about it

We are the same . We dont wink ourselves unless its in response to a wink from someone who we feel match our criteria.

However if someone winks at us who we like we will sometimes send a thank you message to find what response we get. But like others find it difficult to understand why people ignore after they made the initial contact... But thats life move onwards and upwards we say

I always thank someone for sending a wink, just being polite, and if guy wants to take it further, I have opened the door for him. I never send winks, would rather send a message if I am interested

I always thought a 'wink' was to show an initial interest to the 'wink-ie' (not the confectionery) who would know your interested and either 1. 'wink' back to show there mutual interest or 2. Hire a hitman to blow off your kneecaps (in extreme repulsion obviously).

I really don't see why people get so animated about 'winks', it's not like someone is in your fridge pinching your butter (light obviously).

I've sent winks and messages before not even a polite rebuff sent back. I always thought a wink meant you were interested

I've always seen winks as a bit of an ice breaker and personally quite flattering and as we know flattery can get you anywhere !!

Who knows why people get animated about receiving winks or block ppl coz they get a wink wtf...just accept it and carry on with your business...no ones anymore special than anyone else don't try to think you are will just put ppl off.

And relax rant over

I wink just to say I liked the profile, but would save you the time of reading and deleting a message from me.

theyre just a total waste of time.

i get them from guys with no profile ,no pic and they live 100s of miles away.

even when i clearly state on my profile that i wont respond to them they still wink .

Not responding to or simply ignoring winks is one of the most baffling approaches here on Fab, not sure if it's a sense over entitlement that makes some folk demand in the manner they do but it sure is confusing.

If we go into a club or a party etc we never feel insulted or slighted if someone looks at us, we may not 'fancy' each other and may not even speak buy that initial eye contact with its intended 'suggestion' does not offend us in the least.

A wink is one of the most useful tools here and from the site owners point of view are brilliant as they take up virtually no server room whereas the War and Peace oft craved by many before they will even deign it worth of a reply just clogs things up
