Face pictures - how important are they?

Suffolk - East Anglia

We've had so many (great) meets from this site. We've always measured whether or not the other couple are right for us based on good conversation and personality before we've met. We don't care about face pics from the off but some peeps demand them before even accepting a friend invite. How important are they really?

Well I think they need seeing at the start. As nothing worse than getting chatty, then get the photos and you think no thanks x

I need to see if i'm attracted to someone physically as well as mentally. I can't sleep with someone that doesn't tick both boxes

Lol try turning up for a meet and realising the male of the couple has half a head, think that is a pinpoint as to when our attitude to face pictures changed.

Important, yes well for me anyway. As Cali says nothing worse than spending weeks chatting then receiving pics, and they are completely different to how you had imagined, and there's no attraction.

To me, very important, there has to be a physical attraction as well as the conversation otherwise it doesn't work. I've chatted to people, had good conversation then asked for face pics, then if its a oh no......

So face pics as well as convo important.

Leeds.

Jackie has a face pic on our profile. We state quite clearly we're not perfect looking supermodel types. That's just us being honest.

The biggest p!ss take is when someone with no profile pics at all messages us demanding more pics lol. Yet they won't send one.

I've had one too many incidents of body from bay watch face from crime watch to not want to see a face pic from the off.

And there's no way on earth I'd agree to a meet without seeing one. I get very little play time so to do all the chatting and flirting and arrange something to turn up and think OH NO! Eek x

I agree

i've done it a few times where i've chatted to someone for a couple of days then they have sent a pic and i've not been attracted to them, may as well see each other from the start save wasting time

We are not everyone's cup of tea and visa versa. So face pics from the onset is a priority for us.

The face expression tells us a lot about the personality. We really need to enjoy a social meet rather than having one of those long nights of silence...

But even with face pics the mental stimulation could not work. You just try to increase the odds...

I prefer to see a face pic asap not only to check if I am attracted to them but also to check I don't know them already as that could be awkward, depending on how far the conversation has gone

I will chat to anyone willing to have a blether online without a picture, but if a meet is ever going to happen tha face pick is a must well in advance.

Face pics are important to me I like to see who im chatting to and I like to see them pretty early on because there is nothing worse than chatting to someone, they're talking about wanting to meet and then you don't even get a tiny tingle when you see what they look Like

Well beauty is only skin deep.. It's not what's on the outside.. I like to have fun banter, giggles, be able to hold convo,

Admittedly it does help to have something nice to look at while you're being f**ked but I do own brown paper bags for putting over the real bad ones heads!!! Hahahaha

Or over mine so they don't need to look at me...

I do ask for pic so when we meet at least I know who I'm looking for

Extremely important for us.

People who don't show face pics early on are obviously more likely to be fake, but more importantly, if both parties don't find each other's faces attractive, not really much point in carrying on the conversation.

That awkward moment when you've exchanged a few messages, and then they reveal their face

This is why its best to get it over and done with quickly for both parties

unfortunately even when done politely, some think they are hotter than they actually are and the rejection is met with verbal abuse as I have just had the displeasure of !!!

we dont ask very early for face pics, but like to see before we actually meet as it would be somewhat difficult meeting in a pub if you dont know who you are meant to approach.

we are like yourselves, base our impressions on conversation and profile before even worrying about pics.

have had lovely people message that cant string a sentence together, and conversly those that some wouldnt give a second look at have great conversational skills.

Well, some people will always be rude, only option is to rise above it!

The worst we've had when politely declining is getting a message saying '???', which is okay.

When we get a 'thanks but no thanks', we always send a 'no problem, have fun' etc message anyway.

You get what you give, really!

Very important as we have to be attracted to those that we meet. We don't look for supermodels but there has to be some attraction.

Normally like to see a clear face pic in the first / second message.

If the eyes are the window to the soul, then a face pic can give a great impression about someone's personality

How many ladies have put on their profiles "no more cock pics"!!!

For me it's no face pic no meet. I won't even continue with a converstaion without a face pic. I need to be attracted to the person, the whole person before I would consider meeting.

Fairly important I think for all the various reasons mentioned but its worth saying that some people are actualy quite photogenic but in real life they can be a bit of a let down. Then of course theres photoshop etc!..

I find that my reluctance to post a face pic has stopped me getting meets...but, being married I need 100% discretion...say I send a face pick to the wifes best mate...not good!

Im happy to meet anyone pic or not...just make it clear the first meet is a social meet, if your not attracted...don't meet again!

Im no model but Im not an ogre...I just need to play safe!

"The face expression tells us a lot about the personality."

I certainly hope that isn't true!

I find it genuinely difficult to smile in photos, but am reliably informed that I'm a lovely young man with a great sense of humour.

Wouldn't think it to look at me would you though!

I seem to do the opposite to most people on here. I have my face pic on public display, and my private pics just that.

I guess I'm less concerned with these witch hunt rumours of being fired from my job and ostracised from my circle of friends, than I am with genuinely getting to know other like-minded people who I know are at least partially attracted to me from the get go!

Important to me as i like to have an attraction before wasting anyones time.

And with couples it has to be to both

The attraction mentally comes after that as you will know not far into the chatting if you are going to exchange numbers or not...the next step comes after that.

I would say that a nice clear face pic is a must if you are wanting to meet for fun, but if you only arrange a social only meet then maybe not as important, some ppl me included look better in the flesh than I do on my pics( so I get told ) so guess I'm not very photogenic....but that's my opinion x

A face picture is very important, and people have to realize thata persons perception of them can change without it. The brains distinguishes qualities through sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. And on this site the safest for all is site.

Bridgend Area

Its pretty important.

When we joined the site we got chatting to a guy for a while seemed really nice we got on in messages etc had seem a pic of his equipment and yes very nice. Then a meet was looking likely so he sent a face pic...well despite the rest all going great there was no way we could meet him as in my opinion (He was serioulsy not attractive..) an thatvwas putting it mildly so it ended there. now if we had seen his face pic earlier we wouldnt have gone on so long building to a meet that was never gonna happen. we made our excuses (didnt tell him thought he was ugly as sin) and left it there. we could all have been chatting to someone we could or would meet instead.
