The future of swinging?

I have watched with interest what in my opinion appears to be an almost "wane" in the club scene possibly due to the rising costs involved and more and more reports of bad practices and behaviour by both management and attendees of clubs.

I hope this is not the case as we love the clubscene and have had some great times. However we are thinking of going to some private parties and events after feeling a bit jaded (possibly over indulgence)

But I digress where for you do you feel the future lies??

I hope the future is still there but heard a lot of bad reports lately . Fingers crossed ey as I have years left in me yet !! Lol x

I find clubs hit and miss and as a single guy you can end up paying quite a bit to turn up on a quiet night.

I find parties are a good alternative as they are less frequent and usually well attended and more play focused.

I find socials and normal one on one of mmf meets are more reliable and you know what to expect and have more time to focus on getting to know each other better.

I would say private house parties...

Some are strictly social and some open orgies....

A nice balance of the 2 would be great and keep things going....

The future like the past is fluid, new people will discover what others have forgotten, and even better is they will keep it alive until its time for others to rediscover it.

We used to go clubbing every month but over the last few years have done mostly private house meets and swinger camping. Clubs are fun but our nearest ones are an hour's drive away, so now we only go on special occasions. It would be sad if clubs really are declining.

Maybe swinging is getting more 'mainstream' and people don't feel they have to do it in a special place like a club?

That "book" has a lot to answer for I believe. I feel a lot of the main streamers coming in are not thinking about the whole experience and what it entails.

No one can predict where Swinging will go in the future, but I can look back to when I got into it in 1985 and comment on the changes since then.

The biggest change is, of course, the internet. I really am in two minds over whether this has been for the better to be honest. Certainly it's speeded up (well, sometimes!) how long it can take to get a meet as it can be immediate and not reliant on Royal Mail via contact mags like it often used to be done.

But the biggest change for me which seems to have happened in the intervening years is the left-over hippy 'friendliness' (only way I can describe it) which I felt when I got into the party scene seems to have completely disappeared.

People had a lot more time for you then, and newbies weren't out on a limb like they are on here. I was very lucky admittedly - the GF who got me into it was part of a well-established party network/scene and a few people took me under their wing (I will resist the urge to say took me in hand...). A lot of that seems to have been lost in the 19 year break I had in the middle.

As for clubs and whether they will survive/evolve - they are commercial businesses and they will stand or fail by what they do. The one thing that does surprise me is that, unlike many other aspects of our lives today, there seems to be very little influence of how clubs are run on the Continent which has made it's way over the Channel. This may be due to the licensing restrictions we have here, but they have restrictions in other parts of Europe too, so they can't use that as an excuse.

Be interested to see where things have gone in 20 years time though...
