I know I'm probably a bit OCD but does anyone else spend more time examining people's houses in their pics than the people in them? I am slightly put off a meet if they have an untidy house in pic lol. Put the fricking washing away and have a dust!!!

Oh Christ me too! I arrived for a meet once and the house was so appalling I went home and picked up that old sofa and mattress that I'd been meaning to dump for ages. She didn't even notice.

Lol you're not alone. I've seen some horrendous backgrounds that have totally put me off. Overflowing ashtrays dirty clothes strewn over rhe bed and floor, dirty dishes, carrier bags still full of shopping

Couldn't agree more, some of the pictures are absolutely gross, if that's how people treat there homes then they surely can't have a great approach to their hygiene and sexual health either!!

Stained carpet, rubbish on floor, kfc chicken bones on bedside cabinet kids pics next to dildo.....yep your way to filthy for me.....always good to do a little detective work prior to emailing.

It really pays to double check your pics, as many seem to have done, due to some people's profile pics getting re-used on sites that show sex seeking people's pics, and where their members critique the style, or lack thereof etc.

I think the deal is that when we post our pics on the net we lose our expectation for privacy etc - just like the criticism of the sydney uni postings etc.

Please, I understand that I'm not featured in Ideal Homes etc, under this nom do plume, but if unsure how to stage your pics, taken at your home, follow a few simple rules.

Clutter is usually something to clear away for good. (This includes other people's good, not just your own).

Patterns are best if they're complementary - don't push the boat too much into unexplored territories.

If you have an aversion to house cleaning etc, shove all of your pizza trays, beer cans, fag ends, post, used condoms and tissues, ear wax and other bodily secretions, as well as your unwashed clothing at least out of sight.

Unless there's a mirror that can reflect these horrors, get the camera positioned in front of your slag heap. Whilst use of dustbins might be acceptable to some, please do consider your responsibility to recycle and to keep overflowing bins outdoors. Also think of the possibility of vermin popping into view, at the moment the shutter closes – uneaten food will invite them!

Minority interests are likely to deter the many. As a hobbying taxidermist etc, pop those unfinished stuffed animals out of the way too. Likewise any weapons or many restraint tools.

Tidy up any mags that may give away your deepest, socially unacceptable desires.

Some historic period items and styles merge well together, so a little art deco, with some modern chic may well really impress – if in doubt, don’t.

If you've some dirty 1970's curtains, and Victorian dark furniture, coupled with stuff you've collected at car boot sales all on top of each other, your viewers may be a little less forgiving than your nan.

Likewise if your rooms are so crammed with stuff that there looks little room to breathe, take immediate action. Potential visitors may want to know that they could make a quick exit, if needed, rather than trip over a poorly placed reproduction 70's disco ball that's fallen from the ceiling, whilst you were off your face one night.

Bed linen, if you're posing in the bedroom, should be absolutely clean and fresh - it needs to invite. And invite more than an autonomic nervous system's projectile vomiting from your viewers. Think, if they're viewing and sicking up, are they really likely to come fuck with you?

Glad our house is clean, but I am a cleaning freak so it's not often our house is "dirty" or messy. I do like to clean with some good tunes on and only wear lingerie or sometimes naked if it's laundry day lol;-)

I know several biker mates who's houses are a mess but their machines sparkle. Don't ever assume that a tidy house means poor hygiene. Pristine mowed lawns, no old furniture, picket fences, 2.4 kids, loving Mr average.

I'm happy being me, not going to change that for any f**Ker....

Nooo you're mistaken. The tampax and make up are just in case any ladies have forgotten theirs and hey why can't a guy enjoy flowery bedding and a handbag. Some people are just soooo suspicious!

Oh and that wedding pic in the background isn't how it seems. It was just a friend in fancy dress. Honest!

We had a meet recently that i was a little unsure about having looked at pictures where the house wasnt a dump but questionably had overflowing bin and ashtray and a kids potty in view and one of the couple looked a little dirty and not in a good way. Sir convinced me it would all be ok and if not we would leave. Well what can i say the ground floor was ok not too bad and upon going upstairs to the bedroom it was wrong the bed had stains on the underwear was grey and had stains i refused to play and we escaped as quickly as possible.

The funniest thing was they had sat there telling us how they could get meets but people never met them more than once or stopped very long. How do these people not work out why. They have since left the site after claiming everyone is timewasters and fakes
