Receiving the first message

Do any women actually send the first message or is it just that my profile is quite bad?

I have been on and off her for 2 and a half years and I have never received a message first so basically I was wondering about my question above.

Take a look at your profile and put yourself in the womens place, would you send yourself a message after reading your profile?

Certainly a lot better than it was that's for sure. Wether or not it will get you any more messages is anyones guess, but at least you've listened to people and put some effort in which is always a good start

Bambi...errm brownie points for taking notice of advice given by people and acting on it

I block single men and couples so if I want to chat with someone who interests me, I have to send the first message! Sometimes I get a nice 'no thank you', sometimes I experience the 'delete and block' and sometimes if I am lucky and appeal to the person we will chat and hopefully meet.

I get the occasional wink and I did send a message to one of the senders but got no reply so now just wink back if I am interested.

I send messages. I prefer that to being inundated with receiving the dozens that I seem to get from some dubious looking characters. Humour is a big thing to me, if they make me lol in their profile than ill say hi,

I would imagine most women get swamped with messages the moment they join. I still have almost a dozen that I have sent but they have not been read in as long as 5 weeks. Now I only send them if a particular individual catches my attention for some reason..

I have and do send first messages to single men.

As others have said sometimes they delete or ignore and others it leads to chat and sometimes a meet.
