No, I don't want you to email me one, or text it, or whatsapp it or even send it in a nice glossy frame my courier pigeon!

If you have the means to do any of the above, surely you can just upload one??

Doesn't need to be visible to others, mine aren't! Keep it in private so only you and those you send it to can see....

Had to have a rant, after getting barrels of abuse for not wanting to give out personal details so someone (who messaged me for a meet, not the other way round).....logic clearly missing....

I stop chatting to people if they can't or wont send a face pic. You know the excuses, can't because of my job, family, neighbours, kids or whatever, yet expect you to send them one!

I've had enough hassle and stalking from giving out my number to who I thought were trustworthy people to last me a lifetime. If they wont upload one on Fab to send privately then no meet!

I think for some (not all), the problem lies with the usually non reciprocal trade of face pics. I realise there's an accepted order of doing things in this instance, especially if the guy (or couple/ woman/ person) makes initial contact.

But sending an even private face pic, and not getting one in reply can be an issue for some. Especially if all contact ceases after that. Or (like me a few years back) you eventually find someone using your pics in combination with others as part of a fake profile.

I have to be honest, we don't have face pics on here, we have had some disasters with our face pics being used on fake profiles on other sites and it's been really hard to get the profiles taken down.

Although the main reason we only email face pictures is so that if they do get anywhere we wouldn't want them to at least they would only be something somebody could have stolen off Facebook, and not have fabswingers and a link to our profile written at the bottom x

Yes, of course. I don't expect a man to send a face pic in the first message but I do expect one eventually if they want to meet.

I get cross with the ones who do send a face pic in the first message then get stroppy when I say no thanks and don't send mine back. I never contact men first anyway but if I did I would be happy to send a pic first after a few exchanges and things seemed to be going well.

Which brings us back to the earlier point i was trying (but failing) to make.

As a lot of ladies don't make initial contact, some people see sending face pics as a one way event. People aren't obliged to reply, and if the receipient doesn't fancy the person who sent the face pic, then all contact ends there.

You then end up with a growing number or either cycnical or paranoid site users who won't send face pics until they get one from the other party. Cue never ending cycle.

See, in that respect I am lucky in that the face pic I send out of me is also the one which is used on a number of another sites (by ME before anyone gets suspicious!) and also in connection with my work, so if anyone did copy it (why they would want to Gawd knows!) and repost it anywhere, it could have come from a number of 'legitimate' sources and cannot be identified as a 'Fabs Photo'...

In the instance I described in my post above, the 'woman' concerned didn't have an avatar pic or any other (public or private) on the site, yet 'she' was asking for my email addy... no chance!! Lol!

I have face pictures, which I keep private, and happy to send out if requested.

On occasions, where a picture has been requested and I have sent one out, and the next minute I am blocked. Which I feel is ignorant and rude. Surely thanks and not interested or my type mesaage would suffice.

I think that's a pretty good point actually and not one I'd considered before.

We've always sent face pics and figured it was fine in that they were always regular pictures (ie. not nude) so no issue. But yes if your profile details are on it and somebody looked that up and could recognise you from your profile pics too that could be an issue for some.

Why is there any need for fab to have their watermark on photos anyway?

Even if someone saw the link to your profile they would have to be a member to view your actual profile.

Fabs watermarks them as a way to prevent picture theft.

Funnily enough the first time we ever had a meet they advised us that people who demand face pictures mostly turn out to be fantasisers.

Thinking back now it's probably not far wrong.

We've always exchanged them after an exchange of messages and once it seems they're people we might want to meet.

Basically once they past the 'dickhead' test. Lots manage to fail that even before an exchange.
