I read this statement several times a day on people's profiles and comments in forums.

Is it me or does it imply that they are fussy and everyone else isn't?

An excuse for not meeting anyone?

They are not really fussy at all, but just like to tell others they are.

I do believe we all have our own guidelines as to the type of person we are looking for. Isn't everyone a bit fussy. Do you really need to write it in every thread you comment on.

all I think is its a statement made to attract others that think the same...but it IS a belittlement to others really

Ive met that many folk that I havent wished to actually play with and likewise..

we can all still get on in a social/sexual environment

I don't think everyone is fussy, some believe that being on this site means a guaranteed shag and if they contact you, you aren't 'genuine' if you say no.

We have all encountered the 'any hole's a goal' mentality, my perception of fussy is that they aren't. So for the likes of them, I'm quite happy to state I'm fussy ( or picky)

It seems a lot of men are not fussy at all. I often get the hi fancy a fuck, hi fancy a meet, do you want to meet now, type messages. I do not have any public pictures up. That means the men messaging me do not know what I look like. Asking to meet me before they know what I look like makes them sound desperate to me and they get a block. They also get the block for not only sounding desperate but also proving to me they have clearly not read my profile.

The amount of people who send messages from locations far enough away to be an holiday location, or who want to meet in Tesco's car park on a Thursday morning are probably not going to get very far with anyone.

As a newbie to the forum I see the op is not implying that it's not okay to be fussy, just there is a high amount of people (mainly women) who feel the need to declare that they are fussy in almost every thread they write in. The OP at no stage wrote that you should not be fussy.

Absolutely everyone should be choosy about who they meet with, but I like the op think that when people feel the need to declare this at every opportunity, they are in some way saying that others are not fussy. I don't know any woman who posts on the forum who is not fussy.

I am confident in saying no to those I don't find attractive, in fab and in a pub. But don't feel the need to declare on a lot of threads my fussiness.

It is reasonably easy to chose those that meet your criteria and dismiss those who don't so I agree with you, writing that you are fussy is not giving anyone any pointers as to what the person is looking for!

Totally get where the OP is coming from and would also say that fussiness is in the eye of the beholder and therefore subjective, so saying you are fussy is meaningless in this context and just makes you sound stuck up frankly! All you can glean from someone saying they are 'fussy' is that they will make their own decisions on who to chat to or meet, which we know already!

No we are not all fussy. If you read some profiles they make it clear they are not bothered how old, big people are or how they look cos they just want to get laid. I have seen many profiles like that

But does it matter? There are constantly comments like this on the forums and I just think people are here for fun and what they see as fun is up to them. Those who are not fussy good for the. Those who are fussy also good for them. There isn't a rule book we are each here for our own fantasies whatever they are
