Pfizer's Viagra UK license expires today!

As of midnight tonight, Pfizer's exclusive license to produce & sell viagra in the UK expires. They've still got 7 years to go in the U.S.

This means any drugs company can now get into the £4 billion viagra market using the exact same formula Pfizer has. No more buying the loads of rubbish alternatives from dodgy websites.

This means supply will be greater than demand & prices are expected to drop to as low as 85p a pill from the £10 - £35 that it is now.

So, for those who use it, good news all round me thinks. If you can get a prescription from your GP of course

I didn't realise it was that expensive now. I just assumed everything was £1 a pill on the blackmarket...

Oh yes it is that expensive & they've made a killing from it as well. The funny thing is they made it by mistake while trying to make pills to manage heart conditions

I often wonderd how those conversations must have gone during the research and testing phase

The results are.....

Blood pressure down! ....Ripple of applause

Cock up!...Standing ovation and foot stamping

In a crisp poke on the A814

One company was using the same formula!

They were taken to court, but only to have the colour changed...Viagra wanted its claim on the "Little blue pill"...

So other company changed it to turquoise...

As of tomorrow, they can forget their claim to the little blue pill

I find viagra dehydrates me big time leaving me with a headache like a hangover. Other tablets tend to be ok.

Comment on BBC website "The fact that it is a regulated drug that requires a prescription means nothing will change. People buy it from illegal on-line suppliers because they are either to embarrassed or would not qualify for a prescription from their GP."

ie, you'll still need a script from your GP and have to pay whatever pharmacies decide is the going rate OR stick with the risky mail order from India option.

If someone's GP won't prescribe a drug, it's probably because they don't think the patient needs it.

Why would anyone take a drug they don't need, bought mail order from a possibly less than reputable source half-way round the world?

I have tried Viagra and Cailis but to be honest didn't do anything other than give me a headach. I don't have Erectile Disfunction but thought it might make my cock harder, nope! But I guess as I was in the company of an expert lady there was never going to be a need for extra stimulation. She made me repeat several times in a session.

Good old Auntie right again. Will one of the Supermarkets or Chemist chains break ranks and loss leader it, possibly. Maybe Tescos will give people a half price sript for a packet of four with every £30 spent on Condoms

Good article on this in the current Shortlist magazine. That's the freebie they hand out at stations and street corners.

"Sex pill shopkeeper sells pirate Viagra just 48 hours after being raided as part of a global drug crackdown.

YOUNIS MOHAMMED was happy to flog 30 sex tablets to a Sunday Mail reporter, despite being the subject of a counterfeit drug bust 48 hours before."

Plenty of doctors are prepared to partner up with online pharmacies to give private prescriptions. If this does get competitive then by comparson with anti malarials, prescriptions cost should be around £10-15 then is down to how cheap properly regulated generics can be produced and what mark ups are applied.
