"It does make everything lovely though Not too sure about ya insides Moderation is the key, alcohol is as bad as any illegal drug and effects the same part of the central nervous system as heroin... Most expense to the nhs? Alcohol! There isn't a need of an offence of stoned and disorderly either MDMA Acid and for me I think is overrated but it should be nice stuff if you're paying that much for it." As I said each to their own, and sounds like your gonna have a blast, definitely up for people leading their own lives and making their own choices. But the alcohol vs drugs issue always comes up. As we don't live under prohibition, alcohol is legal, and regulated unlike many illegal substances that are not controlled. I totally agree moderation is the key, but in my case with booze, so I only had eight refresher bomb chasers on Saturday haha

Admittedly this is going to be difficult with the harder addictive drugs especially heroin. I personally don't like getting much past merry with alcohol but love tripping and dance type drugs such as mdma. I'd never stick a needle in myself though, heroin must be nice though people wouldn't do it else, the main problem is the crime some people commit to fund there habits when they become addicted to something.

Don't you think that by making them all legal it would give more people blanche to try them, leading to increased numbers of people committing crime to fund their new found addiction? That's a step in the wrong direction in my eyes. Of many wouldn't get addicted, such is the case of alcohol, however, I think heroin is a whole different ball game. But if your the kind of person with addictive tendencies all drugs including cigarettes and booze could lead to huge problems

The Netherlands and Portugal are two that spring to mind. It's really easy to get hold of drugs in this country as I'm sure you are aware as it is. As you say certain people are going to struggle with substance abuse come what may. Most recreational users work for a living as do most drinkers it's just a different form of release. Some people will drink all day every day, some won't and that holds true with drug users to. So by that argument we should be banning alcohol... Which won't work. Most drug users don't create problems for society any more than most drinkers don't.

And although it's interesting to hear your views Abigail, I think we are both going off the OP's topic. Our thoughts on the right or wrongs ain't gonna help him survive his Glasto trip
