Thats 18 of us so far plus the gentlemans lady friend .... So this cider bus we need details and a time thats good for us all maybe we could have 2 meeting times so if some cant make the first -- we can make the second -- ill be there on both counts

Lots of people meet at the cider bus, there are at least two other groups of people that I know of from glastonbury forums that meet at the cider bus... It could get confusing

At least a hour but we didn't zip him up until nearer the gate, We went in first got pissed watched the england match then went and got him when the queues had died down a bit, he did get very hot though, I poured water in to cool him down a bit It was nerve wracking waiting to see if we would be searched mind, we would have dropped everything and ran and left him... Else we would have probably all been kicked out. Would have lost my sack truck but hey. We let him out a field away from the gate we use gate d. We put crates of beer on the bag and strapped it all on with pallet wrap. He was our driver that year as no one else had a car at that time.

Crates of beer on his head, wrapped in pallet wrap ha ha ha wow poor guy must of been squashed and close to death, hope he at least got a few beers in as a thank you!

Back stage doesn't get you a lot unfortunately, you need to have extremely rare passes to get within close proximity of the stones.

Friday is probably not good for a meet up as all the main stages start on Friday so it'll be difficult to get everyone together. There seems to be more and more stuff going on Wednesdays and Thursdays every year. We are travelling up on Tuesday night to get there first thing Wednesday morning. Going to be camping in park home ground probably.

For those who don't know where the cider bus is, head for the pyramid stage (you can't miss it ) when facing it you need to head away to the left at the bottom and you will come across the cider bus.

If you have google earth on your pc, google glastoearth and you can download a kmz file that puts the Glastonbury festival site on google earth as an overlay, it shows loads of stuff such as stages, bars, camp areas, popular eateries. It's good to get your bearings if you haven't been before.

It might be easier if we either decide a 'leader' and everyone pm their mobile numbers or pm your telephone number to a couple of people who say they're going... You'll never be able to walk around Glastonbury in those heels I wasn't planning on trannying it up lol

Hi Catz, you can't miss it it's a double decker bus near the other stage. My third Glastonbury and I'm doing them all til I die!!

Just take everything from bikini to arctic gear and you'll be fine......

It's not near the Other stage, it's much nearer the Pyramid stage. If you're facing the Pyramid stage it's to the left towards the market area, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the other stage...

It's not on 2011's not by name anyhow. glastoearth website is your friend... if you don't know where it is.

For first timers remember the site is the size of a small town and there are 175000 people in town for the weekend, it can be quite confusing.

If you click on the fineguide it will zoom in, in the orange area east of the pyramid stage you can see meeting point written. There is a little orange beer glass just to the left of the M of meeting point. This is the approximate place of the cider bus

This is a map which is basic but covers it.

One with probably too much info but you can zoom right in is on a site called glastoearth but you need to have google earth installed on the computer to work it's free just google both and you'll be sorted in 10 mins.

I'll be in male mode at the festival, bit apprehensive about dressing in normal public places.

You sound much more organised than my mate, all she has done is bought a pair of wellies, which surprised me no end I've known her 24 years and it's her first Glasto.

It really depends on your budget...

I know people that have gone with next to nothing and you could if you're a big drinker and eater probably do £100 a day can't remember the exact bar prices last time But expect up to £4 - £4.50 a pint food between £5-£10 depends really you can find cheaper or more expensive. Google glastoearth there is a huge faq

I picked up 42 cans of cider for less than £40 which will reduce my bar total substantially, you can take your own alcohol anywhere. I've got a huge cooler that will be full of ice to cool them down works until sunday.

There is a fab meet (which I assume to be more social than play) at 7pm on Thursday at the Cider Bus. There are links to the fineguide or glastoearth above if you don't know where the cider bus is and many people on site will know where it is.

I say social as you only have to look at the ratio of people whom may attend that there are an awful lot of males attending.... If you're expecting to play expect to be disappointed

Although I can't speak for the females and couples attending, they may want to play but I wouldn't be expecting too much...
