Just out of curiosity why do most women refuse to meet guys travelling through their area like they might be up their neck of the woods on business etc, why is a no no to most women?

Because most men traveling through are just cheating on their wives. Most women in the lifestyle do not tolerate cheaters.

A fair point but not all, plus there are many couples who play with single guys where the guy is playing away but most couples wouldn't know that so it's horses for courses

Some couples do play separately. On a couple of occasions I have met up with only the male half of a couple, but only if I know them well and have met them before. Plus I speak to the female half of the couple first so I know she knows and is completely fine with it.

But is is right that the swinging community frowns upon cheating partners.

Correct but my main point was the travelling through bit. I love my concerts and on occasions find myself for example going to London and staying over and the brick wall I've found trying to get a meet while I'm up there is such hard work.

I can appreciate women wanting maybe regular fun than a one off but if the meet was successful then surely another meet could've easily arranged, plus it's not frowned upon when a woman or couple say travels from Wales up to Birmingham to charms for a night out for example so what's the difference?

Oh then I don't know. I mean, is there any difference between arranging for you to travel somewhere to meet someone and arranging to meet someone at wherever you have travelled to? I would have thought that make things more convenient.

Because I'd rather someone want to meet me for who I am and not because I live in the area where someone is passing through or more often than not in my case 'on holiday'. One man was rude enough to tell me I should meet him as there aren't any men in my local area..which is true..but I politely informed him that I'm not the local tourist attraction!

I like to get to know potential playmates and the men I play with certainly need to get to know me. Add to that I do not meet in hotels or invite anyone into my home who doesn't invite me to theirs.

Pretty much rules out your travelling salesman type!

Because they often want to meet at their hotel and have an expectation of getting laid. I feel uncomfortable about meeting them and then not wanting to play so would rather not meet them. Saying they are quite happy to meet elsewhere and meaning it are two entirely different things

I'll be honest, if you suggested meeting us after you'd been to a gig we wouldn't be interested. Meet after 11 and presumably you'd only turn uo if you didn't get a better offer during your night out?

I must agree it is very difficult to meet folk when travelling around, for a number of reasons, in my case, too many to mention! But I have had some fantatstic and repeat meets so it can be done. It is very frustrating at times. I always invite the lady I am nmeeting for a meal and a chat, with the proviso that if we don't click then no worries. I never have fixed expectations!

We got thoroughly pissed off getting messages from guys travelling through wanting us to come to their hotel.

We began to think that we should get registered with the local tourist information office.

Frankly we felt that we were a little bit of amusement for guys stuck in hotels who were too tight to pay for an escort.

im a single guy who when working away occasional would like to hook up for company .. if thats a quick drink or a kiss n cuddle that can all be discussed in advance and a night planned together doesn't mean i expected to get laid - Far from it !

Let's not get the two points confused here. One is that you are not from the area, the other is that you want to meet either before or after the gig. The first is not a problem but the second is.

Most people want to meet between 8pm and 11pm, which just so happens to be when you're not available. We get the odd message from people staying in hotels who want to tack on a meet either before or after something else they're doing. They are the most unreliable types and are not even worth replying to. They think a meet is like room service. If we have an evening free then so should they.

Why don't you go to a club either before or after the gig or whatever else you're doing?

We've proved through our own experience that no timewasters turn up at clubs and they are available at the same time we are. And quite a few are not from the area. A little bit ironic and very obvious, but it has saved us a lot of time.

In your area tonight at so and so hotel do you want to meet up?

Its the equivalent of the wanna fuck? message except its a travelling version

As boring as it may seem to the say hello then expect an instant shag brigade I much prefer to take a bit of time getting to know someone first,it works for me

Whether I reply or not has a lot to do with the tone of the message. If the guy does not meet my preferences, is obviously expecting sex with no social aspect then its an instant no.

I do however meet several guys who regularly stay in my area on business. They usually come to me, rather than expect me to go to their hotel. They approached me correctly. Infact one I saw had a meet up, and had met ladies I knew when I lived in a different area, I asked one of them if I would like him, then I messaged him! We have met several times now. It can work....

Totally agree with you there! I'm away on business most of the time and as such, can (and do) find the time for a more social event. Indeed, there are some who prefer solely to meet those on business as they know that there will be no chance of commitment!

In my experience, I have made more friends in those areas to which I travel than in my own home area. As a consequence, my experience tells me that people do NOT like to meet those who live close by. However, I know that this is not necessarily true across the board and would not dare to suggest that MOST people in fact, prefer to meet those on business in hotels! Each to their own!

I'm happy to meet men for a drink and if it leads to something else then fine. The problem for me tends to lie in the fact they are usually staying at the hotel I work for, and I'm not allowed to spend the night with guests!!
