Someone says they are after a meet, you reply to there post. You get a response saying that you might be a little far away(1hrs drive) You ask if you may see some of their prv pics as the profile pic is so small you cant really see anything. Then get accused of being a pic collector when to be honest all you want to do is see what they really look like. Is this really the way to react? There are other alternatives if they can't accomodate.

no seems a bit over the top - did you let them know that if they were good looking enough you would be willing to drive the 1hr? hence the request for pics

if they've said you might be a little far away how interested are they really in meeting you ?...if they arent then no point in sharing pics.

sounds like she was trying to let you down nicely and then felt a bit pushed by a request for pics ? though a simple no thanks would have sufficed maybe

dont sweat it and move on

If they are telling you that you 'might be a little too far away' they're telling you they don't want to meet you.

From then on asking to see their pics for reasons other than collecting is pointless 'cos you ain't gonna get any further.

Don’t let it worry you, they probably look like the back end of a bus that’s been involved in a pile up, although they’ll still be sought after here, unfortunately the attention goes to their heads.

There are great people on here, it just takes time to find them, and again, unfortunately there are also more clowns than at the circus.

Good luck finding the wheat amongst the chaff

Seriously I think the attention does go to their heads, the first msg I sent was 'not sure how far away we are from each other' and she replied so if no interest why the reply with the area where she is? Why not just a no thanks instead? I explained after saying we could make other arrangements but no response so stuff it lol

I would agree there "your too far away" is often used as a polite way to let people down, as often on here "your not our type" replies offend people. Ok and yes we have given the "your too far away" excuse, guilty as charged

people think that because we say that we are average looking that we will jump at a chance to meet them. some wont expect us travel quite a long distance but we have kids and traveling and babysitters make it expensive so we have to decline even if we like them. yes it says we cannot accomadate but when kids are away we do and if during school hours then we can too. so daytime meets in our place is what we are looking for to save money and have time to selfs after wards

At a guess, we would suspect this cpl gets a lot of e mails.

Many from guys who simply have not read the profile etc etc..

This tends to lead to the odd snotty reply.

Dont take it so harshly, move onwards and upwards. Plenty more fish in the sea!

We just delete the majority of e mails the one liners, those miles away, clearly not our type etc, However, when someone makes an effort we ALWAYS take the time to offer a reply.

Its a funny old game, dont expect to have everyone rushing to shag you! You need patience, a sense of humour, and a dose of luck!

Have fun!

OFF TOPIC!

To the OP, since you are new, in case you have not checked out the Meetings section of the Forums, O1dKingCole is organising a party at Eurekas on Fri 12 Feb 10, in case you are interested in coming.

Shameless plug, I know!

I agree most guys dont read your profile properly, dont take notice of your requirments, age, distance single etc

I do try and answer all my mails, 90% of the time its 'Thanks but NO thank' ..

Last week I replied to one guy with this 'No thanks......' and he accused me of having an attitude problem

I can take a knock lol It wasn't a case of not reading the profile its just the arrogance of some people on here I guess...

As someone said before the attention probably has gone to their heads, think about how many emails a guy gets compared to a female, female wins hands down I bet so i'm probably in the right saying its giving some people rather large heads and think they can be rude!

I could be wrong, I don't want to upset people on here but that's just my opinion.

That is an interesting perpective, but to give you a slightly better understanding... a new female on here (and I have witnessed this for myself) can recieve messages at a rate of around a message a minute. So within an hour she will have recieved more initial messages than you are likely to within a year. I'm really not exaggerating there either.

Not only do they have that huge choice of people, but they also have to go through all of those messages select who they like etc. delete who they don't. So you can understand and forgive them for just deleting the ones that don't interest them.

In fact in some ways you should count yourself lucky to have recieved a mesage politely declining you (beating around the bush a little granted), as it is far from the norm!

Hope this helps

I must be doing something right, as I never got more than perhaps 10 PMs from Day 1!

Mind you, it could be that I am not young and attractive anymore, ha ha!!!

an hours drive away works out to be 2 hours away by the time you get ready and then you get slightly lost or in a traffic jam and people have got work in the morning etc so they are early bedders.please take into accout these factors before bumping your gums.remember you are only on here a week

BTW, I did get close to 300 in 48h after successfully loading up a "tasteful" nude pic on a paid site.

It took me 3 to 4 days to replied to all of them as the site thought I was a bod and limited the number of replies I could make within a time period.

I believe I declined 95% as they were just crass one liners!

I've certainly used the "sorry you are too far away" as a "no thanks".. it sometimes saves getting a reply of "why not?"

I've also sometimes used the "you may be too...(whatever)" if there's a little glimmer that they could be an exception to the preference... but at this stage they ar sitting more on the "no thanks" side of things.

If the reply to either of these was just a request to be sent more photos, I'd assume they were paying no attention to what I had written and tell them to **** off!

If we told someone they were a bit far away from us, that would mean no thanks ( although we do normally put no thanks too). We wouldn't then add someone to a friends list so they can see any pictures we may have as we would have had no intention of meeting.

You had a reply, it is better than most people get, accept it for what it is, a rejection and move on.
