Why Aren't There More Single Women On Here?

In his most recent podcast, sex advice columnist Dan Savage discusses the reasons why women typically do not look for casual sex. These reason are:

-Threat/possibility of violence

-Slut-shaming

-Rape culture and myths (i.e. women who go looking for casual sex deserve to be abused and are "asking for it")

He suggests that each of us men, women and couples, of all persuasions and orientations can promote a more sex-positive world by challenging these things whenever we encounter them. We might not see these things so much in the swinging world but in day to day life these messages are everywhere.

What do others on here think about this? Do you come across these sorts of issues? And do you challenge them?

I totally agree with all of the above. I would say a lot of women who join this site are put off by the way they are viewed and treated by some on here. Slut shaming is something that is very much alive and well in the 21st century, its a total joke. The stigma attached to being a sexually liberated / adventurous woman is enough to deter women from being active on sites like this.

I do NSA as that's what I want

I've been called awful names on here by blokes because of this like whore slag slut etc just because I chose to act like a man

When I man wants no strings sex he's a lad a woman is deemed a slag

Frankly I enjoy being a slut but it's something that you either feel good with or not. It's a compliment to me. But then I come at things from a totally different perspective. I don't have the kind of friends or family that judge.

On the subject of rape, I have been on here for 2 years and only felt mildly threatened by two people and to be honest they were no worse than they would have been in a club. How I would have felt if I was only in my 20s I don't know. But I can handle myself and know what I want...

but you must have noticed that men on here don't see you as a slut or a slag till you tell them you don't want to meet them!

personally i think that says so much more about them than it does you
