Lots/most ladies in here complain of guys lack of imagination/boring first messages.

Would some of you be so kind as to share what exactly constitutes an acceptable/interesting first message?

Something that shows they've read my profile and are interested in me, rather than it be a copy and paste sent to every woman in the area.

This. But the quality of the message will need to be really outstanding if the sender's profile doesn't also capture my interest and make me want to know more.

What if they don't have a profile? What else can I say?

If they don't have a profile then what do you want to say to them?

Again something that shows they have read the profile and NO Dicks, unless it's asked for.

Why would you message someone, when they haven't written anything?

See now your bio gives a guy plenty chances to write decent opening message.

I could say that, "I too am very fond of cheese and crisps. Can't beat a nice charcuterie board.

When was the last time you were at the rugby? And who's your favourite comedian?"

Whereas most womens bio give nothing to work with other than they're a "size queen" or that they want a nice smelling, tall charming guy

See now your profile doesn't really give much to work with unless you want someone to acknowledge that you sound fussy, stubborn and like a rant about how precious your time is. Sorry if that sounds rude, but that's what your bio says

You don’t have to write war and peace in your message but it has to be something that’s going to intrigue us to open up the message without straight deleting.

But your profile and pics are just as important, as your message. As your message isn’t going to sway anyone if the profile and pics aren’t appealing.

Your bio basically just says you don't want to be called Lady and that you have a fat arse. Doesn't exactly give much material to work with other than to say "hi, i like your fat arse"

How else are you meant to try connect to someone you find attractive?

Could you give an example of the last first contact message that caught your attention that warranted a reply from yourselves?

Nothing fancy - they wrote that they enjoy our profile and wanted to pay a compliment. Their profile pic was good so the intrigue was there and then their profile was detailed and intrigued us further…simple as that.

When someone messages they are effectively saying look at my profile - so that’s why it’s just as important for a good profile - no point being a wordsmith if your pics/profile is bland.

Yup, thats what my bio says. I'd disagree about your assumption that I like a rant, actually I hate it but its often necessary. My profile changes quite regularly but is always honest, sometimes brutally so.

Ultimately it makes no difference what my profile says because the vast majority of people who message haven't bothered to read it or ignore what it says. I once did an experiment and changed my bio to just totally random words that made absolutely no sense, still got multiple messages a day saying what a great profile I had and how I sounded like just what they were looking for.
