It can be really hard finding the right cage. We have about 20 and probably only 3 that get used regularly.

Most we should probably throw away as they just don’t fit, are uncomfortable, or just poorly designed.

A good starting point would be one of the resin Holy Trainer cages. Or perhaps a Cobra series.

You will find plenty of cheap copies on amazon.

Lockthecock dot co dot uk is also a decent website.

Reasin cages are a good place to start but metal cages more suitable to long term wear.

Really you just have to keep trying them until you find the right one, so don’t buy anything to expensive until you know what type of cage suits you

Totally agree metal cages are best for long term and comfort..do wish they could be made slightly lighter tho

Metal best for longterm and for hygiene if you're planning on keeping it on for the whole of Locktober (and not taking it off each day/night to clean)

Would defo say trial and error is your friend. Bite the bullet and just buy one and see how it feels and fits.

I like kink3d cages, they’re not cheap but fit really well and good for long term use. There is a stockist in London that does fittings. Well worth taking the time to get something right for you. That said one of my favourites is an inexpensive metal cage that I was very lucky to find early that fits really well!

Look up websites on how to best measure your self,plenty of the manufacturers have "how to" info

Get a cage that has various sized base rings included so actually see n feel how each size fits.

Don't spend too much on first device. Amazon is good place to start.

Don't try to do things too quick. Getting used to a device and being locked can take time...esp with first device... dont feel a failure if have to remove esp if sores arise...start short then build up your lock time.

Look up chastity sites & chat groups great for getting help, advice and info.

I've always found metal to be a bit heavy for me personally for longer-term wear, but it's definitely the most hygienic choice. Yeah it having a low profile lock and lightweight and (hopefully) quality construction is what convinced me to splurge a bit. It's almost 3x the cost of some of the other 3D printed caged you get can get so hopefully it's worth the extra. I might pick up a coupld of cheaper cages as well from Lock The Cock to compare though.

They mention the auto-locking mechanism where it'll stay in place whilst you do up the lock or screws - how have you found that to be? If it works it must make getting the cage on so much easier?

Also we went with the barrel lock because we're more casual with it so it'll be on and off quite a bit for sleep and exercise, plus I was a bit worried about the longevity of the threads and what you'd do if they failed. The hex lock version definitely looks much better though!

Ah I'm glad to hear that! I do like their stuff but the product images leave a bit to be desired. Maybe intentionally you can't see the super sharp edges on the HT devices, or the seam down the middle of the base ring which chaffes.

Some good comments on the Hera there. Interesting in comparison to a kink3d genuine cobra.

I may look into it further especially as it's suggesting a low profile and curved Base ring.

The screws sound interesting and strong.

I've broken a 3DXY barrel lock from a nocturnal errection. So naturally curious if I may run the risk of stretching screw threads over time.

Only one way to find out,

My back up is I cable tie my cages around the barrel lock. There is no movement at all. Everything held back during the night. Being 24/7, no rush to remove cable tie until deep clean.

I think the resin cobra is a good place to start. I find it very comfortable and mistress finds it easy to put on. Comes in different size cages and they come with 4 different ring sizes from lockthecock. We also use a hinged metal one from hod, which mistress finds more difficult to put on but feels kinkier and I love the weight.
