Why no thanks is a bad idea

This thread is really just to answer a FAQ

A recurring question in the forums is why people will delete messages without saying no thanks. We will always reply to thoughtful messages which have clearly been written to us, however anything copy and pasted; 'Hi hun', 'how was your day' etc will be deleted. Not just because that kind of message is annoying and spammed around to everyone but mainly because you can't block them!

As soon as you reply to a message, you can no longer block that person. Imagine a fairly popular profile gets 10 copy and paste/'Hi hun' messages a day. If all of those were 'politely replied to', that's 70 people a week who now can't be blocked and who may either reply with 'why not' or just ignore it and send the exact same message every few days for ages afterwards.

So the short story is it's a lot less hassle just to reply to the people who've put some thought into their messages and first impressions do matter!

You can block any one at any time . Just tonight I have blocked a guy I was talking to for a few weeks . Just go to there prof and block them

Fab will tell you they're blocked but they can still contact you

Have mailed someone before (so if you mail someone you have otherwise filtered, they can reply)

Winked at someone (because if you wink we figure they should be able to reply)

Have them as a friend (because that makes sense)"

That's the filters , once they are blocked they are blocked and can not contact you

I'm sure we've had this issue before; people still able to reply to our original message to them.

Even so, it's easier not to acquire stalkers and have to block them in the first place. A reply is a red flag for spam to some people

If do understand what you are saying about not answering as I don't answer every message I get , I can assure you though that as I said once blocked whether you have had contact with them before or not they can not contact you.

You can block anyone at any time. The block will apply and continue to do so unless you contact them (thus removing the block) or they create a new account to circumvent it.

We have had one person crazy enough to do that. Not to mention facebook and phones. That nearly went to police level
