I think everyone is getting too sensitive & we should tone it down a bit. All this vitriol aimed at one poorly expressed OP.

People can call themselves what they like as long as the right sex is displayed on their profile. The only couple of minor points I would add is

1. There is a very wide ranging spectrum on the Trans scale.

One other thing mentioned in the thread that I'd like to discuss is the toilet situation.

There are only three alternatives. Ladies, Gents and Disabled.

It would be quite wrong for us to use the disabled. How irresponsible to potentially deprive or delay a genuine disabled customer?

That leaves only the Ladies or Gents.

If I am presenting as female then I will have to use the ladies.

Some females dislike us. I understand that, though thankfully it is a very small minority in my experience. In addition some females might feel a little uncomfortable with us using their toilets, even though they have no general hatred towards us. However it is extremely rare for a female to get violent towards trans people.

Contrast that with the risk we would run if we entered the gents. Many more men are homophobic and are prone to violence, especially when drinking. Trans people are attacked every day simply for who they are or what they look like, not for anything they do. Those advocating we use the gents are asking us to put ourselves at higher risk of violence.

I might add also that many trans people are TS and so legally entitled to use the ladies. You can't tell who is TS or TV just by looking at them.

I should also say that those of us that go out in public, be that shopping or for nights out (not including sex clubs) are not doing it for sexual reasons. We might hope to get fixed up in the same way any girl out on the town might, but that is different from us getting a sexual thrill simply from being out dressed in public. I get a thrill, but it isn't sexual, it is because for a few hours I can be who I want to be and my psyche is at peace instead of turmoil.

Many crossdressers do dress ONLY for sexual reasons, which they are perfectly entitled to do. These are really sexual fetishists rather than trans. However 99+% of these do not venture out of their room. It is easy for members on this site to confuse the prime motivation of these individuals with the motivation of those who venture out and endure the ridicule of the big wide world.

If you see a Tranny out in public you can rest assured we won't be getting a sexual thrill but our hearts will be beating 10 to the dozen in fear until we can eventually relax and be who we want to be. It takes me usually the better part of an hour for that, then it is impossible to stop me smiling.

If a person with a cock no matter how the individual feels goes into the ladies loo it is wrong in my view.

I have a real close friend currently living as a woman but would not dream of going to ladies loo.

Some cds etc look great some do not but same can rightly be said about anyone else regardless of gender.
