I am thinking about booking a hotel room for fun times, just not sure how it works with the security measures in place these days?

Anyone ever done this?

It’s okay, security guards don’t sit in the corner of your room anymore

A lot of hotels these days, require room keys for lift access to upper floors (which possibly means all the bedrooms depending on the hotel), so you'd need to meet in a public area (say a bar if there is one), before adjourning to the room.

If the place is local to you, I'd perhaps advise a recce, to see how the land lies.

It depends on the hotel but we have never stayed anywhere that they query who you take up to your room, you've paid for it after all.

They'd draw the line at over night stays, multiple people in and out, nuisance noise or inappropriate behaviour.

We recently staged at a Premier Inn for the first time and although we didn't it would have been quite easy to take someone up to our room

Generally, Premier Inn, Travelodge and Village hotels (that we’ve stayed in) have had no issues if you want to take someone to your room.

If possible, ask for two key cards even if you're staying on your own. You can always say "my wife/partner are joining me later"- but do make sure you set room occupancy to 2, not 1, as you may get questions.

Or, whoever is coming to see you, if you don't arrive at the same time, can always meet you at the car park and you can go up together.

Guests are allowed in hotel rooms.

Some hotels require keys for main lifts or the corridors too.

But nobody stops you or your guests.

It's fine

Village hotels people can generally get to the room without a key, travellodge and premier inn tend to make you greet people downstairs. I leave a key downstairs if i know them and just say my bf is joining me. When i added a third at 4 in the morning no one was around 😂😂
