Being left on read etiquette

If someone reads my direct message and deletes without replying, I’ll then block that person and delete my sent message so that I don’t bother them again in the future by interacting with their content or viewing their profile when they’ve indirectly said “no thanks”

But what is the etiquette if my message is read but not replied to or deleted?

Send 1 follow up message and if still no response then delete

Just delete it from your sent folder and don’t think about it.

If I delete from my sent folder, I don’t know if I’ve tried messaging them before. What I want to avoid is coming across as pestering anyone x

This! Also I often read message but not all of them are response worthy. Or I read it and then for whatever reason I have put my phone down as I get distracted by something else.

Try not to overthink it OP.

Does it not say at the top of their profile that you've messaged them?

What if they had a lot of messages and mass deleted everything? You never know 🤷🏽‍♂️

Unless you're clearly not what they're looking for, then it's obvious why they've deleted your message...

I find it easier when someone deletes my message because that’s a clear signal of not being interested.

I’m somewhere ‘on the spectrum’, so I know I 100% over think stuff to have to try hard to understand what the hidden/indirect message of something can be.

I want to avoid bothering people by going on their profile if they’ve not replied to a previous attempt of mine to message them. I see so many negative things about being pestered by single guys, I want to do everything I can to not fall in that category x

The messages that have been read but not deleted are easy, I give them a couple of weeks then delete (if they were considering contact but needed to discuss with partners, or were to busy at that time ) then I deem a fortnight enough time.

The ones I don't know what to do with are the yellow unread

If someone is interested in you they will reply in a reasonable time.

I understand that people can't reply straight away.

But if you're on hold for two or three days and they have been online during that time, forget about it. It ain't happening.

There's only two reasons why you'd be left on hold if that person has been online.

1: They're not bothered. If they were, they would make the effort to reply.

2: They're playing a game to see how you react. Probably unlikely, but if it is the case, then would you really want to meet someone who would do that?

Either way, delete your sent message and block.

I delete if they’re unread … or read and online with no reply … I assume there no interest … also i match efforts ….

But never any hard feelings ….. other than my 🍆 in this lovely summer breeze 🍒 …. 😜

How about making a private note on the profile of the message, the date you sent it and say 'left on read'

I don’t really send many messages these days but when I did I deleted every message I sent (initial contact ones) it doesn’t matter if they are read or not the message only matters if it’s replied to.

If it gets replied to your initial message will reappear on the message chat so don’t punish yourself looking.

Men on fab are to concerned with the sent box and woman are to concerned with the inbox.

The most successful men on fab let their profile speak for themselves and the most successful woman block all incoming mail unless they have initiated contact personally.

I never look in my sent folder. The day I do that, I’m taking things far too seriously.
