Consider the large amount of males competing for meets with couples. Yet they think a "morning" message is going to get your attention, I think not! Shortest one we've had, no attached pics and yet they complain about lack of meets. Jesus H Christ, they know nothing.

Lots of bitching about brief opening messages....no one is innocent, I've had plenty of messages from couples just saying "hi"

Honestly what are expecting? A full on novel to rival "war and peace" 🤷

Ok so I see lots of posts here on this thread about what's wrong but the etiquette for sending the "right" message is unspoken on this site, in my opinion... and conflicting.

For one, you need to admit that Fab's etiquette is esoteric. There's women who don't want brief messages, others who don't want yappers, some who like dick pics and dirty talk, others that like thoughtful and respectful talk... list goes on. Point is, there's a myriad of things people find appropriate or decent and it isn't communicated well to newcomers and outsiders.

Here's something different to change the course of this topic. What's a right opening message look like? How does it catch your attention (get you in the mood) and what was the best one you personally received?

I agree with this. I had a message from a female with no pics at all and said fancy a ride now? I said I could meet in about 2 hours and I was left unread! Go figure

The art of conversation is dead in here.

I always try to right coherently and with correct spelling, punctuation and grammar (one meet I had, told me they invited me because of it), but many replies I get are gibberish. When I ask a question like , “what do you like?” the answer is often a one word answer with no follow up, or just a question back expecting me to answer the same question first.

I do not now how they expect a conversation to flow.

Many of the messages we get from "couples" and "women" profiles contain less than 5 words.

The flow of a conversation is key to us.

Answering questions we’ve asked in some detail whilst asking questions is important to keep a chat going.

Unfortunately a few word responses or even just a one word reply, is the norm.

We will often match the word count in our reply. A couple often message us with ‘hello’ so we reply back you ‘hey’ and then nothing…speak again in a few months time then 🤷🏻‍♂️

"Many of the messages we get from "couples" and "women" profiles contain less than 5 words. "

I have just looked back through some of my recent “conversations” and the word count for the people I speak is ridiculously low.

However a conversation I had a few days ago seemed to be going really well. We were just chatting about swinging in general and frustrations with other people’s rudeness and then she blocked me. I hadn’t even said anything that could be construed as rude or off putting or pestered for a meet.

Bonkers

I get very few messages but if I do it's "hi" or "how are you?" So I agree it's not just men it's a site problem

I don't often send a first message but when I do it's a short one as described by the OP...A short "hi" or "morning" message indicates to the person I am interested in them.

So it's not to everyone,s taste but you can simply delete that kind of message if they offend you.

This happened to me a lot. People are very strange…I suppose at some point they’re scared of the next step, maybe

I find this is perfectly OK as long as the message starter replies to the next message! Had too many where they send you a short message and then your response gets nothing

From the other side of the fence, I love the couples profiles and seen some amazing ones.

I very rarely message a couple though as I feel that if they are looking to add some spice they will generally find and message profiles that fit the bill.

Is this the wrong approach ? Would you guys rather have the person message you ?

I might be missing out 😂

Neveretheless, the question still stands for all those who are embittered and letting out their frustrations on this thread. What's a good message look like for you if a short message isn't enough? What's the person supposed to communicate on the 1st message?

There’s someone on this thread agreeing about the lack of effort but there own profile has 2 words and that’s it

I’m guessing they still get inundated with messages which is fair enough but it’s nice for me to have something to base my message on

You get a lot of men who put no effort? And for those who do send you a message with a bit of effort, do they get a reply?
