Meet refusing to webcam/vidchat or send pics.

I'm experiencing an increasing refusal by potential meets to engage in webcam/vidchats and/or send face pics, and I stipulate nothing rude, I just want to (not unreasonably?) see what they look like. Obviously I understand that some want to control their identity as much as possible but surely it's reasonable to want to know what a meet looks like before you meet, particularly if they have your pics but refuse to send you theirs. What's the experience of others on here and your comments?

I’m don’t think there’s anything unreasonable about swapping pics or a video call. In fact I’d expect it. Those who refuse I wouldn’t trust 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would only ever send my face pic if I am arranging to meet them, would never send it in the first message and I am not expecting the other person/people to send theirs straight away. I believe my verifications prove I am real. I would not do a video chat or speak on the phone either, regardless whether it was totally innocent or naughty. But that's just me.

somewhere out there

If someone refused to send at least a face pic then I wouldn't consider meeting them.

I won't ever meet someone without seeing face pics and having some sort of verification they are real be it through snap, Kik, a call or other verifications

I need to feel an attraction to someeone at least, so a face photo is required at some point fairly early on. It would be very disappointing to talk with someone for some time only to discover you arent attracted to them and could have used the time you spent getting to know them on someone I was attracted to. Also I've been finding an increasing number of fakes that have a few verifications so verifications aren't always real sadly.

I've noticed some statuses recently where the receiver (usually female) is shocked someone has left them a veri for a webcam meet when they haven't been on webcam. Im pretty certain this is how fake veris are generated and fakes will go around verifying eachother.

So I feel a veri call or even a voice note veri saying a particularly obscure phrase is not unacceptable. Genuine people have no problem doing this overall.

We definitely wouldn’t meet without seeing a photo. If they’re not prepared to share that then seems odd that they’d be happy to meet. Unless they have plenty of good verifications we’d stay well clear.

It's not unreasonable and we all set our own boundaries and rules. Personally we'd see it as a red flag too if things had progressed to arranging a meet. On the flip side people are entitled to make their own rules and protect their privacy to how they see fit. Not always sinister just sometimes a mismatch in terms of how people like to play it. Which is fine, just never be pressurised in compromising on your rules and how you feel safe.

I would add that the polite request to webcam/vidchat or send pics is often completely ignored and not mentioned/alluded to at all in subsequent messages. By the 4th or 5th request it's obvious summit's not right, why not just give your reason/s at the first request? A Vigorously Waving Red Flag indeed IMHO.
