I’m on the spectrum and when I feel awkward, I tend to say silly things, that usually breaks the ice quite well!

I often find that laughing about the situation as opposed to dancing around it always helps at the start. A quick joke and a laugh about how you ended up here meeting one another can help cut through any potential awkwardness I find!

Mrs could make friends in an emoty room she is one of those people with a friendly aura.

That and she is autistic so will just go "OMG I LOVE YOUR TATTOO/DRESS/BAG/SHIRT" then goes from there.
