Looking to gain traction on FAB, I’m new to the site and as a single male very much new to this ‘world’ I am finding it slow going.

Your profile doesn't give me any sense of you and your personality. What are you looking for, what can a prospective meet expect from you. What does 'fun' look like to you and in what way do you want to broaden your horizons?

What is the same reason that everyone's here?

Basically in my opinion you need to broaden the text out to give more of a sense of you and what you're about.
